I Set My Foot Upon a Path

By Frank - icare2be, published on Feb 6, 2011

...in anger,Sometimes, but always with love,

I set my foot upon my path,Sometimes to create,Sometimes to exist, even survive.

I set my foot upon the path,Sometimes following others,Sometimes leading others.

Originally written: July 11, 1995

This is a reflection on life and the paths we take in life. It could be a reflection on my life, and possibly yours. I look back and I am pleased with whom I have become. It may have been luck. It may have been destiny, which I seriously doubt. It may have been happenstance. I am thankful for the friends and family... (more)

Live To Inspire

By Barkha Dhar, published on Jan 29, 2011

Inspiration is like the lotus that rises from the sludge and is untouched by the impurity of pond. It’s the illumination of soul that is unstirred by repugnance of life. As spur of hope, inspiration is the internal mettle that keeps us moving even if the sun is down. As an internal coach, inspiration often emboldens us at the end of the road to be resilient and change the axis of our life. Such grit is a gift beyond age and above reasoning to uncountable souls across the globe. Today I am sharing the narratives of some such souls whose life is a sketch of inspiration.

At 9, she was impeccant... (more)

The One Christian Altar

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 21, 2010

There is one Christian altar, For worship, adoration, and petitions.

O dear Lord, I come before you

Humbly, head bowed,And knees bent in worship.

I come forward slowly and meekly,To lay my petitions before you.

I come with my arms,Raised in praise and honor.

Annually, this Advent season,Is a time of anticipation,

And remembrance, Of the promise and realization.

The wondrous birth Of The Savior.

The Christians around the world,All turn towards Bethlehem.

All our hearts warm,At the songs sung heartedly.

Our minds open up,To... (more)

Memories Precious Memories

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 16, 2010

Have you ever left a place you did not want to leave?

I have sat perfectly still, listening to the sounds of crickets, frogs and leaves moving in a gentle breeze.

I have sat with my heart wide open to the feel of the breeze absorbing all.

I have drawn deep breaths and held them to internalize the time and place.

I have tried to reach beyond the bounds of the mortal body to be part of this place.

Memories are all that remains. When all else is gone I have the memories.

Memories, memories precious memories.

A Single Lonesome Thought

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 13, 2010

...

A precious gift given to each of usAll we are or will beIs the result of this wondrous present.

Not for our glory but for His.

Just a thought of mine - Hmmm mmm mmm or His?

Originally written: February 15, 1995

This is a musing on the very first thought. The first thought a human being had. The first thought I had when I entered life. The first thought I can remember. The first thought I had this morning. What would I be without my first thought and all those that came after.

I am thankful for the precious gift and would not like to live without it.

All About Me

By Deborah Horton, published on Dec 10, 2010

... care of. They pretty much get what they want. They feel entitled. They are not forced a lot of them to work for anything that includes an education. It's just handed to them. For some of them, if they have to expend any effort they feel it's some kind of punishment. Everything they want in life should just magically materialize and you should be happy to provide it. If you stray from the constant me, me, me of their lives well you are just selfish and mean. Narcissism is their life. It is all they know. Unfortunately, it will also shape what kind of adult they become.

Breathe Deeply, Breathe Again

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 9, 2010

Breathe deeply, eyes closed.Hear the musicFeel the musicAbsorb the music

Breathe again, very deeply. The sounds splashing over me.I am getting wet inside and out.Reaching my deep inner soulThat abides closestTo the center of all things.

Breathe again, and again.Letting the sounds permeate all,Even the nook and crannyKnown only to meAnd the center of all things.

Breathe again, breathe deeply.Feel the peace and serenity.Draw close and listen.Someone is speaking to me.

Don't Be Late

By Deborah Horton, published on Dec 7, 2010

...at the very least let me know they will be late or won't be there at all. It's not too much to ask I don't think. This way, if I do have something else I need to get done, and believe me I always do, I can take care of that while I wait or the event can be rescheduled and I can go on about my life. I have a friend who is perpetually late to EVERYTHING we ever do together and as such, I have started showing up later than she says because I know if I show up on time and wait for her I will just get irritated about it. But, her patterns I know. People I don't know that well or who haven't ... (more)

Piggly Wiggly

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 6, 2010

Piggly Wiggly Piggly Wiggly a wallowing in the mud. Roll around, roll around. Piggly Wiggly a wallowing we will go. Stomp a foot here. Stomp a foot there. Piggly Wiggly just a wallowing all day long. Bury my nose ever so deep. Piggly Wiggly wallowing in the mud. Toss my head way up in the air. Piggly Wiggly a wallowing we will go. Throw the mud here. Throw the mud there. Piggly Wiggly a wallowing all day long. Take a nap now. Take a nap later. Piggly Wiggly a wallowing in the mud. Eat a little, just a bite. Chomp! Chomp! Piggly Wiggly a wallowing we will... (more)

I Am But a Man

By Frank - icare2be, published on Dec 5, 2010

I am but a man.Just a man, human still.I live and breathe.I do good and bad.Sometimes one more, Than the other.

For after all I am, but a man.On the average, not the mean. The good I do out weighs the bad,But then there are those days.

For after all I am, but a man. There are those days, glorious days.Or so I have been told.Of grand forgiveness and absolution.

For after all I am but a man.

This was writen reflecting on a particularly bad day I had. It was putting Humty Dumpty back together again. I was imperfect, but not all bad. Not unforgiveable, just imperfect.... (more)
