Unlocking Forbidden Knowledge

By jonpercepto, published on May 27, 2013

...forbidden. The word itself implies that something is prohibited because a higher authority in a position of power over others has deemed it so. Historically, monarchs, dictators and religious leaders of repressive patriarchal regimes have kept the masses, especially women, from access to knowledge and education solely to maintain ignorance and control their role in society. The male and female principal, when balanced, creates the strongest union of human potential. Regrettably, there hasn’t been enough equilibrium between them, and as a result this potential has not been... (more)

Wisdom's Seven Pillars – Pillar #1 Humility, Pillar #2 Peace

By D. Sager, published on Mar 7, 2012

Number One - Humility

“Humility must always be the portion of any man who receives acclaim earned in the blood of his followers and the sacrifices of his friends.” Dwight D. Eisenhower

Humility is an attitude that understands others are just as important as myself. An attitude that looks to provide the needs of those around me by my hand. This pertains not only to a physical provision but to an emotional, mental, and spiritual provision. ...your guilt ridden standards. You should kill to protect your family, your nation, your freedom. I can go on and show that for every “thou shalt not” there is a circumstance in life that dictates you should.

Double standard? No, I see a higher standard. Wisdom is skillfully applied knowledge, knowing the rule is not good enough for practice of the same. By Maylin Gonzalez, published on Nov 13, 2011

...plenty of variations which all came to the same conclusion, I’m good at writing. Yet I couldn’t write about writing. I know about sex, and well, I could definitively talk about that but then again… What do I really and truly know? What about my sarcasm and actual facts? What about my knowledge of all things true? What about my knowledge itself?

It has been said that a true writer is a scientist, and a good scientist goes about facts, and that facts come from knowledge, and that knowledge comes from research, and that research comes from experience, and that experience from... (more)

A heart of Stone

By baynurse, published on Feb 8, 2011

Heart made of Stone

When you make a house out of cards,

The slightest of breezes can topple it

When you make a house of wood,

A fire can devastate in a flash.

A house made of stone can withstand

Both wind and flame without weakening.

A true heart with pureness in love

With unwavering conviction

Of what is truth and perfection

Could never be toppled or destroyed

It can only be strengthened

And fortified in its state

While it laughs at the pebbles of doubt

And smirks at the rocks of hate

She... (more)
