This Game Of Life

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Dec 2, 2013

This world is too foreign to me

Often my heart is breaking

Not knowing how to see

Children hungry for

Love, food, kindness

NEEDING TO KNOW WHY...

I can't watch others cry and moan

Without it pulling at my heartstrings

I breathe their pain into me

Hoping to somehow

Lessen their affliction

I ASK AGAIN WHY...

Experience has never taught me

To walk away from those who

Need a comforting word, hug

Acknowledgment of their despondency

A simple gesture of compassion

WHY CAN... (more)

What Do You Think Matters ?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Oct 2, 2013

What do you think matters? If your not sure, then it's time to rediscover what is important in your life. Another words, what fuels your passion.

To discover this try to simplify your life. Stop doing things merely out of habit.

Turn off the TV for a while, or turn off the radio in the car, see where your own mind takes you.

And if you find yourself saying "Oh I love that", or "this is so much fun" pay attention.

This is leading you to your passion.

Try to get comfortable with actually doing what you love.

As you find what you enjoy doing,... (more)

The Tapestry Of Life

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 6, 2013

Gaze into my eyes

Burning brightly

While I weave you a vision

Soft as cotton

Fragrant as jasmine

Pungent as pepper

Resplendent purple images

Fragile as a silken dandelion

Swaying in the cosmos

Of the wind...

This tapestry weaved

With the brush of our souls

The tears of our hearts

The cascade of our spirits

Imprinted with the colors

Emotions which are shared

The threads un-faded

Memories woven with resolve...

Tattooed moments of splendor

Journey On

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jan 15, 2013

...we would never be the same...

Fall gave birth to joyWinter we bathed in the warmthSummer welcomed us daily

Spring brought forth fruition of growth

Rains and clouds passed us by

Dissolving into rainbows...

Carpeted in mellow thoughts

Our story is written

Never to be destroyed

Without us

One would not be

Who we are now...

Even in the void There is still existenceThrough the tears We remember and celebrate Standing on a firm foundationBuilt with time and life's energyJourney on blessed with Gifts from the heart...

That’s how; we undertake our journey of life

By Uttam Gill, published on Dec 19, 2012

Life upturns with no clue

At the hindsight of reversal we assume, we learn

The moments of rejoice seldom doubts

That’s how; we undertake our journey of life

In usual captivity of realm of our belief, we trust

We fail to see a dagger, eager to stab

All gets camouflaged with fanfare of optimism

Over the murderous assault of betray, we cry

That’s how; we undertake our journey of life

Dream defines easy terms and life takes unusual burdens

In the conjectural spectrum of life, we wonder and drift

Even the drift has it course

Into The Void...

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Nov 20, 2012

...deep within

That only leaving will let me find

Stepping outside of myself

Into the great wonderous unknown

To a place of dreams and possibilities

In searching

Do we indeed find our Soul...

The unknown does not

Frighten me

What frightens me is not

Stepping into that void

And never knowing

What may of been...

Let me be brave

And continue my journey

As we all must face

The unknown

Or live in a permanent

State of limbo....

Between that which sees, and the window, open to the world

By Notumbus Bumbus, published on Nov 7, 2011

...

The widow-maker snag, then bow

To the ground, beg forgiveness.

All maps sometime fail, you lose

Your way, someone else’s way might be

Only marginally better. Still, one goes,

Occasionally returns,

Holding some small artifact to prove

The journey, coat worn threadbare.

As if for an instant all time

Might unwind itself for your inspection.

It was, and now is not, what you hoped for,

Something else has entered, your picture

No longer fits the territory you cross, loss

Comes in many shapes, soon... (more)

Navigating A Path Towards The Future

By jonpercepto, published on Nov 5, 2011

...summation of all the steps it will take to get there. The destination is the direction pursued to reach a goal that defines some kind of horizon beyond which nothing can be seen. Any further attempt to be more specific about its dimensions would distort the possibilities.

As the journey progresses, the horizon will change and always be just out of reach. Trying to jump ahead too quickly can disrupt the sequence and balance needed for stability as the movement towards the future proceeds.

Seeing a situation coming a few milliseconds before it happens helps when... (more)
