Jets Need to Take a Chance on Terrell Owens

By Kevin Roberts, published on Oct 3, 2012

The New York Jets were already struggling badly on offense. Take away a 48-point barage in week one and this has to be the most pathetic offense in all of the NFL.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez has been turnover-prone and erratic, while failing to complete at least 50% of his passes in three straight games. The running game has been plodding and lethargic behind the sheepish Shonn Greene, and the wide receiver have dropped passes or ran the wrong routes on many occasions.

The offensive line has been suspect, too, while the team has watched Dustin Keller struggle to stay healthy. And... (more)

NFL Championship Games Thoughts

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

I have had the flu for the past few days and have spent much of that time in bed sick. I did drag myself out of bed for part of the championship games on Sunday but from what little I saw, I missed little. The Packers and the Steelers won but neither team played to their potential while the Jets and Bears played exactly to their potential.

The Packers had their game well in hand as Jay Cutler exhibited the characteristic he is most known for and why he is so disliked by players and fans - narcissism. Cutler is all about me - not the team. He is not a leader. He is in fact a loser.... (more)

Who To Cheer For

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 17, 2011

...and just plain bad a lot of the time. I know he has played well of late, but the QB he really is, is always lurking in there waiting to be exposed. I just don't think I can cheer for a Jay Cutler team. I didn't when he was with Denver and I don't see myself doing it now.

The Jets are absolutely not going to get any cheers from me as they move forward. I dislike their off the field style and like the Packers, they are the Patriots number one competition and they eliminated them. There is no way I could cheer for them as that would make me feel like I needed a shower... (more)

Talk Is Cheap

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 13, 2011

The Jets continue to talk, talk, talk in the lead up to the game versus the Patriots this weekend. Their coach talks. Their players talk. But they did this the last time the two teams met and the outcome on the field did not benefit the Jets. I don't think it's going to help them this time either.

The Jets have made a career of talking. They started the season off talking on HBO. They gained a reputation as a team that talks trash and profanities. They kept building this reputation throughout the season. Their meeting with the Patriots in December was proceeded by much talk.... (more)

...when the running backs they did have were both injured in the game. Drew Brees was the Saints offense attempting 60 passes in the game. Any time a team is throwing 60 passes and has a defense that plays like its in a coma, they are not going to win....against anyone, even the Seahawks.

Jets over the Colts. Now this one is a bit tougher. I really thought Peyton Manning could pull this out and save me from a week of having to listen to Rex Ryan talk about how bad the Patriots are and how good the Jets are, but no. The Colts lose the game by 1 point on a game winning field goal by... (more)

Playoffs?! Playoffs?!

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 4, 2011

The first weekend of the NFL playoffs gets underway on Saturday. The wildcard weekend with some wild matchups or at least unexpected ones. The reigning Super Bowl champ Saints have to play the first weekend and the perennial playoff team the Colts barely get in.

First up, the Colts vs Jets. The Colts barely get in and I think the Jets coach talked their way in. The Colts have suffered devastating losses due to injury this season. Every time you turned around another Colts player was out for the season. Peyton Manning has picked the team up and carried it for most of the season... (more)

Those Who Can't

By Deborah Horton, published on Dec 15, 2010

There are the teams that can and do and then there are those who seemingly can't and don't. This NFL season has been one of surprise and unpredictability. There are a few teams who just can't seem to get it together, some despite a lot of hype and a lot of talent.

The New York Jets - They started out great. The sports media was all over them like white on rice claiming how great they were. They had plenty of bluster and they backed it up some of the time. Most of the time though, they got lucky with last minute wins and then they got plastered by the Patriots. They lost the next... (more)

Gobble Gobble

By Deborah Horton, published on Nov 28, 2010

...The Cowboys may be in "something to prove" mode yet though and they may give the Saints a run for their money in this game. I do think the Saints will win, but it will be closer than a lot of people think.

The last game of turkey day is over on the NFL network and is the Bengals at the Jets. The Bengals are having an abysmal season despite having 4 wide receiver threats to use at any given time. They just are not getting the job done. This week TO sounded off about Revis and cornerbacks like him. A lot of speculation has it that the Bengals are worse off with TO despite the... (more)
