...“boys will be boys†and sometimes that means finding your physical strength at the expense of another boy, or the other way around. I do think however that we have entered an era of the most unfair battlefields we have ever experienced, and I don’t mean what is happening in Iraq. Fights. In the 40’s and 50's (I'm told) if you were “high class†and you disagreed with someone you would pretty much not say anything. It was rude to openly bring your differences to the table. For those who felt that they needed to make a negative statement, a sniff,... (more)

...ceases to exist the nature of our world will also deteriorate and crumble to ruins and waste. A prime example of this communication deterioration is seen in our political attitudes toward other governments around the world. Like a child who struck another child (preemptive strike on Iraq) because we thought he had a toy that we don’t want him to have. (This shows our lack of diplomacy and collapse in negotiation dexterity). A bit oversimplification but you get what I mean; we need to return to the paper route, to a time when life was smoother and calmer and at peace with... (more)

Heavier guns and sturdier trucks would not have saved a team of Blackwater USA guards brutally killed in March 2004 after being lured by corrupt Iraqi forces into a well-planned ambush, the embattled private security contractor contends in a report to Congress. This conclusion sharply contradicts the findings of a congressional investigation led by House Democrats and a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of the four slain guards. Blackwater is cast in both as an incompetent, penny-pinching outfit that sent an undermanned and poorly equipped detail through Fallujah, a known insurgent... (more)

Close your eyes and imagine yourself living in or just visiting Iraq. Imagine you take a bus from the airport, thinking to yourself is there a bomb on this bus? Will someone attack or hijack this bus, this simple, common, everyday bus you are on. Imagine the woman sittting next to you , she is staring blankly into the air, she looks sleepless, weathered, tired. She looks stressed, anguished, full of fear and apathetic to your presence. Would you know how she felt? Would you wonder what makes her so scared?
Imagine her child with her, a small curious child, at her legs, staring at... (more)
...of keys for my new home at a local hardware store, my eyes were seduced by a silver and red keychain that read, "Freedom is Not Free." Instantly, my mind drifted off to recapture my cousins tearful face as we celebrated her husbands going away party last week, he is a soldier being deployed to Iraq. Her tears were not just for fear of her husbands life now on the line but for the new father who would be leaving her and their infant son behind as he traveled overseas to a war that should be over by now. With thoughts spinning and a clattering keychain clenched in hand, I went to join a... (more)
... This is what I'd do: First of all, I would cut off all ties with foreign countries. Before we can help others we must help ourselves. We need to strengthen our weaknesses and improve on what we lack. We have plenty of natural resources... Lets use them. It's more of a war zone here than it is in Iraq. So the gun control has to step it up and put the foot down. Look at the canadian policy... Need I say more? Draw your own conclusion. There's so many avenues to get your news and it's all negative: children kidnapped, rapped, and murdered, a bank robbery, assult on a neighbor, another soilder... (more)
...protect and defend, against all enemies, both foreign and domestic’, have we witnessed a true unfettered American patriot. General Petraeus came to the nations capital before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, to testify and to report on the progress the military surge has made in Iraq. However even before this warrior left the deserts of Iraq, to testify on Capital Hill, the smear merchants on the far left were laying in wait. The ground had already been prepped weeks in advance by the same ‘cut n run†crowd that have continually undermined the efforts in Iraq. ... (more)
