Stand for Justice

By Caballero_69, published on Jul 27, 2013

Where justice is denied,

Ignorance and enmity prevail.

Where one group is oppressed,

Every group must face travail.

Many yearn for peace

With a pure and sincere desire

But unless they also fight for justice

True peace has no chance to transpire.

When the presumptions of some

Degrade or malign any

People and their property are endangered,

Be they the few or the many.

Where a youth is wrongly suspected

Bigotry runs wild.

When a vigilante pulls the trigger,

He executes a child.

Hope

By melanie jean juneau, published on Jul 1, 2013

Hope.

Hope is essential to life as the air I breathe, the food I eat, the water I drink, the rest my body demands. I think that hope is wired into our D.N.A. Only in a moment of true insanity does a man loose all hope and thus end his life. melanie jean juneau

“there is a profound difference between hoping and wishing, wishing encourages passivity, whereas hope represents an active stance.” Shane Lopez

"While there’s life, there’s hope" -Marcus Tullius Cicero

There is hope for the future because God has a sense of humor and we are funny to God. Bill Cosby

Still I Hold On To Hope....

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jul 1, 2013

I am a dreamer of bountiful dreams

Many never coming to fruition

I've watched them silently flying

Into the vast unknown chasm ***

Still I have dreams I realized and they bless me

So I dream on...

I am a prayer of endless prayers

Quietly I wait looking for this

Sweet redemption to bless my heart

They go unanswered***

Still many prayers were heard and justified

So I pray on...

Often I have trusted a friend

To be betrayed and left weeping

A betrayal to my heart

Scarred... (more)

Wandering...

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 1, 2013

Wandering in the miasma of fog

My conscience scanning

Inquisitive brilliance shining ...

What have I lost?

What is my soul crying for?

To no avail I hunger for the answers...

This universe of humans

Heavy on my mind

Neither a match for my soul...

I see the door within my sight

It does not open with the key I have

Until the time is in perfect harmony...

Herbie, So Happy To Know You Are No Longer Billy the Kid

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 18, 2013

...for Herbie. The key was to actually be able to get him to coöperate, or have him involuntarily admitted through a court order from a Justice Of Peace. While I was talking with my ex co-worker I had asked her if she had any news on how Herbie was doing. I often had thought of him, and hoped he had gotten the help he needed. Turns out he is not the old Herbie at all. They did have him assessed and through this they were able to get him on the proper medication for his condition. From what she told me he now has his own place and is working part-time. Doing extremely well... (more)

Falling Into Peace

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 6, 2013

...to fall to the abyss...

"Why?", I cry out to you

As I lay weeping and lost

Cursing life and bewildered

"It's not fair" , what do I need to learn

That you have struck such sorrow upon me...

Surrendering, no more will to fight

Hope has certainly taken flight

Then from a distance I look upon

A light so bright I lose my breathe

Clarity shining when nothing was left...

You have emptied me to begin anew

I really was not through

A rebirth given to climb again

A different... (more)

Window To My Heart

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Mar 31, 2013

... sacred power of love....

When I heard my first love song

I knew I would find my way to you

I started searching for you long ago

Waiting patiently for God to bless us...

Love does not come to us on our terms

It is destiny flown on wings of hope

Neither can we control or demand love

It is freely gifted as grace from above....

We did not meet somewhere

You were in my heart all along

Perception and instinct beyond

Earthly boundaries transported...

Infinite and eternal... (more)

Light at the end o' the Tunnel

By Rahul, published on Mar 23, 2013

Anytime it feels like

can’t move on anymore

all hope is lost, or

there is no light at

the end of the tunnel.

Try helping someone,

someone random.

For it’s not what you get

but what you become that

matters in the end.

For if your thoughts define you,

then it’s your deeds that

build you slowly but surely.

And soon u will realise,

the light at the end o' the tunnel

was, all along within.
