By Kim, published on Apr 13, 2009

...his point.

The audience was given a Scat lesson as well wherein we performed in great fashion if I say so myself.

This was an additional glorious event put on by Betty Hoover, the gracious host and founder of “Jazz at the A Frame" in the hills of Hollywood.

If you're interested in an afternoon of great music, sheer pleasure, innovation, relaxation, good conversation (at intermission), food and fun - then come out to one of these events.

A Plea For More Denim

By Glenn T, published on Apr 7, 2009

...rockers, I understand there is some cache to being skinny and wearing fitted clothing, but can't it just stop at leather pants? Isn't the crazy black hair, the piercing of every conceivable bit of skin and the black nail polish enough? Take it from someone who's spent some time on Hollywood Boulevard, it is. I need to see the shape of your legs like I need to Chelsea Clinton giving speeches on college campuses again. Besides, with all that black on, isn't a little extra ventilation for some of your sweatiest parts a solid idea? As far as I know, the "rocker" motif is about... (more)

They Can Run, But They Can't Hide

By AmyO, published on Mar 25, 2009

By AmyO & Jen and Tonic

We thought long and hard about the hottest dads in Hollywood, and decided that these are the Top 10 DILFs of today. The only requirements for this list are to be a dad and someone we’d like to... well, you get the idea. Several honorable mentions were also considered, but when it came down to it, the chosen men have a little bit of everything that makes them the ULTIMATE DILFs.

10.) Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - We can smell what the Rock is cooking, and we’d let him bench press us anytime.

9.) Jon Stewart - His wit and unwavering... (more)

The Watchmen Movie- Voyeurs Rejoice!

By VeroniqueChevalier, published on Mar 8, 2009

...the "Terminator" and "Star Trek" franchises. (Old fanboys never die, they just keep rehashing their favorites from here to eternity for their progeny to become addicted to as well). Don't get me wrong, there were things to love about "The Watchmen", especially for my male neighbors in West Hollywood. Yes, boys and boys, (and a few of you girls too), there was actual weenie on display, albeit tinted blue, and glimpsed only occasionally. The Dr. Manhattan/Jon Osterman character (Billy Crudup), (who is reminiscent of an azure version of the Oscar™ statue with a bindi), whose... (more)

The Wrestler

By DLFerguson, published on Feb 26, 2009

...and for good reason as it’s an excellent movie with remarkable acting. But I expected nothing less from Mickey Rourke and Darren Aronofsky. From some of the reviews I’ve read I thought these guys had re-invented movies. What they’ve done is make the same type of movie Hollywood used to make all the time in the 1950’s, 60’s and well into the 70’s: The Character Study. And that’s what this movie is. We spend a crucial few days walking around with this man, observing how he spends his days and nights. And we get an insight into this lower tier ... (more)

By D. E. Carson, published on Feb 9, 2009

...know ol' what's his name? Uh, Miley's dad – that achey-breaky guy...

Shawn Johnson - fresh off her Gold Medal winning appearance at the Beijing Olympic games and at seventeen she's the youngest contender so far. I'd like to see her win just because she hasn't been jaded by Hollywood and still seems to have her down-to-earth personality in tact.

Gilles Marini - If you saw the movie Sex and the City, you remember this guy what Carrie Bradshaw's neighbor. Another actor looking for work I guess.

And finally, the one cast member that made me fall off ... (more)

...name of the producer. Yes, he’s THAT Joseph Barbera who along with his partner, William Hanna has given us classic cartoons like The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Jonny Quest, etc. and one of the writers of this movie is Tom Mankiewicz who comes from a family whose name is a legend in Hollywood and he wrote my favorite Sean Connery James Bond movie, “Diamonds Are Forever” And do I really need to go into the success enjoyed by Raquel Welch, Valarie Curtin, Larry Hagman and the director Peter Yates?

So we’re clear on one thing, right?... (more)
