Why is it that love is so evasive? It hides behind impossibilities. Dancing around dashed hopes and crushed dreams, it laughs, seemingly immune. Attempts to force its hand are met with indifference. It scoffs at the futility of such manipulations. It can appear dead, then, resurrect itself in spite of all resistance and logic. Contrary to reason, it brings to madness the mind of the genius. Delighting in the bafflement of its adversaries, it raises strong arms to show defiance of prediction. Duck, run, defense for you.

Leaves they blend with your skin

Camouflage from within.

Scent not your own,

Voice unknown.

Scant you appear.

Leaning away to tear.

Shadows, darkness to confuse

Who can know you, when hiding is your muse?

Slam this one, lock this one, cold, my heart runs around flicking off the switches Hurry be swift

Quick slam the door, locking the windows, no one’s home, you don’t hear me Hurry be swift

No I wont come out, I’m staying in, quit calling me. So many switches. Hurry be swift

Disconnect, follow that instruction, block the thoughts, they lead me out Hurry be swift

Damn the lights, I forgot, turning off the lights, close the blinds, no phone Hurry be swift

There must never be another, never again, protecting the remains, must hide them Hurry be swift
