Starvation Raises The Siren

By Uttam Gill, published on Feb 22, 2014

The rituals of love confines to vows Falling on to the days we consigned Time fills with time so as the hearts Starvation raises the siren The fallen hopes script the obituary I retain the solemn pledges to relive To rise from the ashes to standby Starvation raises the siren Tonight I am broken so will cry The night in its fold holds me The comfort of the dark haunts me Starvation raises the siren The stormy dreams took her away I beg the storm to calm down I woke up and yell “Where you are” Starvation raises the siren By-Uttam Singh Gill

I am Love

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 24, 2013

Deliberately with lucidity of purpose

Opening my eyes and essence to you

I feel you as a warm breeze caressing my spirit

Do not let fear inhibit your heart

I bring you prayers of your unconscious

Thoughts, desires, longings....

I have always been the justification

To all you have sought

The retreat you run to in the darkness

The safeguard to your soul

I am the light and motivation

Of God's breath in you

I am your journey now and always

May you live your truth....

How to Survive a Heart Attack When Alone

By Coach Phatty, published on Aug 8, 2013

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally... (more)

Six Hearts and Counting: Food, Travel and ... Fairuz

By Steve Gillick, published on Mar 8, 2013

...the campers and counsellors.

The smells in the grocery store, together with the music, acted as a portal to bring me back to my camp experience as well as my travels in the Middle East. It was one of the first major destinations I visited and I recall telling people afterward that ‘my heart is in the Middle East’. The markets, the people, the local dress, the ancient buildings and the food were ingrained in me. My routine when I visited Jerusalem, was to wander down to the Damascus Gate every morning, go to the cart selling ‘Bagele’ (sesame seed-encrusted light... (more)

A Conversation With My Soul

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jan 12, 2013

Be calm my heart

Do not hasten so

Be steadfast slowly

Embracing this new place ...

What are you searching for?

What is the hunger in your veins?

Why are you afraid ?

All you need is inside you...

All you are is engrained

Through your sweat and tears

You lack nothing to be

All you are destined to be...

No one can run from time

Clasp it in your arms

Gladden my heart

You have never been weak...

The pulse of my life

Echos serenely in my mind

Asking if my dreams can come... (more)

My Home

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jan 10, 2013

The home I live in

Resides inside my soul

It is not visible to the eyes

To know it, feel it

Open your own heart to see within...

This home does not

Worship diamonds or pearls

There is no longing

For things and paraphernalia

It lives in simplicity...

The walls are painted in empathy

The floors are blessed with understanding

The kitchen feeds the soul's knowledge

Put down your burdens

Rest in the sublime freedom of love...

Sharing my home

I laugh, I cry, I sing, I dance

Quietly... (more)

The Shock of the Nativity Scene

By melanie jean juneau, published on Dec 12, 2012 as she nursed and cared for Jesus. He was completely dependent on this girl to meet all of His needs. Actually He willingly placed His life in the hands of a thirteen to fifteen-year old kid. Perhaps Jesus's trust was based on the powerful love that God has placed in every mother's heart for her baby.

I am reminded of a quote.

"The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother."- St Therese of Liseux

This Christmas, look at every mother with new eyes and let her remind you of the nativity scene and the One who entrusted His life to the... (more)

Tender Words

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 25, 2012

Words so tender They melt in my heart No matter what happens It is never torn apart Taking on a life of it's own Beyond and above anything We have ever known... So now we are here What shall we do Surrender to it Or walk away blue You do my leave Neither do I Somehow it's written Into the sky Looking with stars in our eyes At times making us both cry Why is this real Shall we both heal Remembering a purpose Of unknown appeal "I think I'll just worry about this tomorrow..." "Refusing to live in any sorrow..." Copyright © 2012 Barbara MacDonald

Observations On Life....

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 21, 2012

...that within themselves. I do have trusted friends that I will ask for advice from. But please , respect me enough to let me ask, rather than be told...

Something we all need to realize is to stop gathering information from outside ourselves and instead look within our own hearts and soul to find what is "right" for us. People very often are afraid of what's on the inside, but that really is the only place you will find what you need to know.

Why is it that people are afraid you may ask. Great question, and surely the answers are verily unique... (more)
