On Blizzards and Global Warming

By ranfuchs, published on Feb 15, 2010

It was a few years ago that scientists predicted that global warming will lead to increased storms, blizzards, and drastic cooling of some areas. So the recent blizzards in the US are of no surprise to these scientists.

However, it seems that the name ‘Global Warming’ is quite misleading, because every time someone experiences a cold day, they question if global warming is really happening. What global warming means is an overall heating of the planet that will cause massive disruptions to local climate patterns: heat waves, draughts, cyclones and blizzards are all part of the forecast.... (more)

Blizzard Strikes US: Drops National IQ 24 Inches

By Tom Lewis, published on Feb 11, 2010

...is benign and those who think it does harm. The Virginia Republican Party, a charter member of the Know Nothing movement, put up an ad while the recent blizzard was still raging ridiculing some opponents for supporting limitations on carbon emissions because, look, it's snowing, so global warming is a myth. Never mind that the people who actually study the subject (as opposed to those who know what they think before any information is provided) have predicted larger, more powerful snowstorms (and hurricanes and tornadoes) as a direct consequence of human-assisted climate change, and ... (more)

Sex and Global Warming

By Gurmeet Mattu, published on Dec 28, 2009

I know you’re fed up to the back teeth with hearing about this, but I have amazing new evidence that Global Warming is caused by sex.But first the science behind my conclusions. You are no doubt aware that when you rub two items together you create friction and therefore heat. So, obviously, when you rub two humans together you create an incredible amount of heat. And, let’s face it, there are millions of people every day who are having sex and the amount of heat created is enormous. Some sex addicts are doing it two or three times a day and that’s just a prescription for suicide, because... (more)

...every day use, utilizing sterile space materials. Find solutions using our dinero to remove the giant, plastic "garbage patch" floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean instead of just analyzing it from afar. Use our tax dollars to create solutions to prevent man-made chemicals and global warming from melting our polar ice caps. Leave the f#c*!*g moon alone, the earth has enough problems to occupy your brilliant minds for centuries, the last thing we need to do is screw up the moon with our experiments!

If you want to help protect the moon, please complain to NASA on this form... (more)

Van Jones, Part Two - Book Review

By HurricaneDean, published on Aug 24, 2009

...I've read. His book clearly demonstrates Jones has moved far beyond his early roots as a community organizer narrowly focused on social justice issues. Now, Jones paints our national problems and solutions in broad strokes in which he believes we can simultaneously fix the "Duel Crisis" of global warming and poverty. The first half of the book, Jones lays out the case that both the environmentand rural/urban communities are in crises.Nothing new to activists. He then makes thepainful observationthat many on the left are often estranged and sometimes workagainst each other's interests. He... (more)

Citizen Newt

By Julian Gallo, published on Jun 10, 2009

...States, even until this day.  Concerning the environment:  climate and other changes in the environment, including the extinction of certain species and the dying off of coral reefs has an impact on the whole world.  Rising sea levels are threatening island nations around the world.  Global warming are causing droughts, famine and erratic weather patterns which of course would effect everyone on the planet.  There is talk that one of the world’s most precious resources---oil---may be coming to the end of its supply in the next 30-50 years, which of course would have a major impact... (more)

Environmental Cost Of Shipping Groceries Around The World

By Alex45, published on Feb 21, 2009

...the penetration of mega-markets in nations from China to Mexico with supply and distribution chains that gird the globe — like Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Tesco — has accelerated the trend. But the movable feast comes at a cost: pollution — especially carbon dioxide, the main global warming gas — from transporting the food.Under longstanding trade agreements, fuel for international freight carried by sea and air is not taxed. Now, many economists, environmental advocates and politicians say it is time to make shippers and shoppers pay for the pollution, through taxes or... (more)

Smart On Drugs Versus Tough On Drugs

By Morgana, published on Jan 24, 2009

...African-American incarceration rates are atrocious and prisons actually rehabilitate/kill about the same number.

4. America’s major cities have drug-war created ghettos, while there is not one ghetto in the Netherlands.

This war destroys the environment and increases global warming.

1. It has contributed to the deforestation of South American rain forests equivalent to the acreage of four U.S. states, while dangerously adding hundreds of tons of toxic chemicals to the environment.

2. It has increased global warming directly by this horrendous... (more)

When I Am President...........

By corisong1, published on Nov 4, 2008

... same dream: peace in our time and to be President.

These are good men.

Whatever one’s political views, Obama and McCain believe they can change the world and make it a better place for everyone.

The world is changing.

There are things that even these two guys cannot stop – the threat of global warming and the development of nuclear weapons, but one thing’s for sure, they truly believe that if they are in the number one spot and thar, they will do the damndest to serve our world and protect it the best they can.
