Por·no·graph·ic Antichrist

By Maylin Gonzalez, published on Sep 27, 2011

Por·nog·ra·phy /pôr?nägr?f?/{Noun... go figure!} It's definition: Pornography or porn is the portrayal of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual arousal and erotic satisfaction - (blasphemy!)

There is something irresistibly appealing about pornography. Not because its joyful to watch and get off with, but basically because it so forbidden that you HAVE to watch it AND get off with it. It knows the needs of its people yet denies any real or accurate ultimate salvation... Like the antichrist of Christianity. I knew there was some awkward relation!

Anyways,

Patriotically Speaking

By Caballero_69, published on Aug 11, 2011

...the world. All military expenditures and every military deployment do not fully contribute to the defense of the Republic. It is time to separate those that do from those that do not.

Fifth, promote the general welfare of all Americans. Invest in the nation's infrastructure and the education of America's children and youth. Push for Medicare for all with genuine reforms of the nation's healthcare system so that patient care takes precedence over corporate profits. Defend people's right to organize and bargain collectively. Bring the military home from most overseas deployments... (more)

If Education Was…

By Barkha Dhar, published on Jul 22, 2011

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” The profundity of this thought reflects upon the significance of knowledge and self-expression. For centuries, education has been an uplifting attribute of self-awareness. Education leverages one’s personality, character, and moral consciousness. As a spearhead to extricate the self from dogmas and nuances of fear, education has been the handbook of insight that edifies positive behavior, indoctrinates intellectual expression, and stimulates self-exploration. But what happens when education... (more)

Freedom Summer of 2011

By Caballero_69, published on May 25, 2011

Are we sitting on the sidelines, or

Are we really in the fight -

Helping people raise their voices altogether Black and White?

Are we teaching civil rights

Doing more and more

Like Mississippi in the summer of 64?

Can we learn from Mississippi

When hatred burns today

Can we keep that dream of Martin's from ever fading away?

Are we stepping up and speaking out, or

Do we turn the other way

Are we living truth or living lies when hatred burns today?

Are we standing firm for justice, and

Doing all we can

Sex Education and Parents in the DRC

By MUGISHO N.THEOPHILE, published on May 17, 2011

It is often believed that family is the place where all children get strong and basic education. Any other education the child will get possibly depends on what the family gives to the child. As for sexual education, parents have a great role to play for educating their children. This can be fostered by the straight collaboration and open communication that parents can initiate with their children. On the other hand, children curiosity must be satisfied by their own parents because if the latter are not collaborative with their children, these will seek satisfaction outside home, which often... (more)

Egypt Removes Sex Education on National Program

By MUGISHO N.THEOPHILE, published on Nov 23, 2010

Removing sex education program from the national curriculum is a big step backwards in Egypt. People should have access to education in a holistic way. However, Egypt’s education ministry has instructed schools not to teach lessons on reproduction and propagation methods, fertilization genetics, and anatomical illustrations of the male and female reproductive systems.

In respect to the above arguments, the Ministry of Education compelled teachers to disregard chapters on these subjects in existing biology textbooks, and new textbooks have been printed that omit the lessons. Accordingly,... (more)

Daily Word for Sun 7/10/2010

By Pastor Jeff, published on Jul 11, 2010

...today, understand this principle. Simply said, "There are NO absolutes." Implied meaning, "There is NO God." Scripture tells us to, "Stay away from those that call good evil and evil good." That is a difficult task, especially when our children are required to attend schools and receive an education by the state.Even the churches today will accept sinful behavior in favor of. Political Correctness. Oh we cannot take a stand on that issue or lifestyle, we might be called too "Radically-Right." We must adapt and fit in and be socially acceptable.Martin Luther once said, "If I profess with... (more)

Is It Science That We Teach?

By ranfuchs, published on Mar 29, 2010

...without understanding of the underlying assumptions, what is the difference between the medieval way of teaching and our own? Is it surprising, therefore, that many English students cannot tell the difference between science and pseudo-science? After all, without scientific thinking, science education is nothing but the memorization of facts and formulae from the books we choose to believe in.

For some, the need for science education is so obvious that questioning it makes no sense whatsoever. Many, on the other hand, see science as an intellectual luxury and prefer to focus on... (more)
