Watch Out! Hollywood I am Coming

By Uttam Gill, published on May 15, 2012

When the wind is going to sing, dust will surely dance. Well, right now, as I comprehend, my spirit in its intense mood, swirling me up. I am awakening to my dreams.

Watch out; I am on a flight… from boots to wings. Common people are common and those who made their names were also very common. They attained celebrity because someone picked them up, with their spark and packaged the brilliance with awesome strokes of cinematic direction.

You all must be wondering that what I am into. Well, today, my ancient sense of lost tenderness has returned and makes me cry, as a toddler to... (more)

Beware of a Common Man

By Uttam Gill, published on Apr 10, 2012

...he wishes to traverse to retrieve from the capricious and illusory fear, the lost glory and that’s a common man. Many journals conspire to churn billions over the corpses of failed entities. As they dig over the setbacks of common man, they shrewdly craft a strategy to buy from the failed dreams, they know that corpse of failed entity never stinks and they churn billions from that common man.

People rather mysteriously wishes to see one more among billions fail. Strange are the ways of life; one man’s failure is another man success and the common man shudders. Yes, he shudders ... (more)

In the early dawn, the dark and the bright birth

My silver cage flew open, and I wandered,

In the cool of the morning, the placenta of night

My foundling feet find rhythm, and I wandered,

In the heat of noon, the umbilical light a rage

My downy wings grow furious, and I wandered,

In the dying day, the flower of life now closing

My infant dreams lay in grasses, and I wandered,

Scraping back the detritus of conformity, aborted dreams, and superficial survival. The script is not mine, I borrowed it from one of the many plays performed in front of me, in books, movies, and in the grand stage of the home of my youth. Foreshortened future, that was a symptom, all hope sterilized, no will to think that tomorrow is a viable possibility. With no tomorrow available in my mind, I grabbed anything available, not my dreams, I possessed not the capability to birth those; but dreams birthed by other souls, who fate bestowed with that capability. I took hold of the dream of a family.... (more)

She is asking for moon

By Uttam Gill, published on Jan 18, 2012

The palpable reason awakens her to know that her solitude in solitary confinement will not fetch her desired happiness. She looks at the people rejoicing and while awakening to the fact, she still refuses to enliven the life and embraces the forlorn desire within her fold. She insulates herself. She pretends with smile. Every day she pretends. She coolly walks into the celebration of others; holding beneath the smile, the dormant sediments of life, which are simmering. She too wishes to hold somebody’s hand but she never. She knows that, she is keenly watched and she refuses to yield to the... (more)

The king and qeen with their rainbow

By Uttam Gill, published on Jan 5, 2012

He sold his empire today and she borrowed the crown to be a queen for the day. From the rags of life they pull the comfort, to find a place of their own.

While excavating their dreams they extract truth which was lying for years, unsold and untouched. With the fortune of their find they vacate the burdens to unwind and feel the confluence of two souls. From a charted route, they leave the edges and glide into the spaces, to unravel the mystic of life; untrammelled and unbridled.

Unknown to the other and oblivious of facts the extent of such demarcation they hold the brush to the... (more)

What has been broken cannot be fixed

By Notumbus Bumbus, published on Dec 4, 2011

We can see the stars and dream their spectrum,

But cannot touch their brilliance – they recede

At the speed of light, of actuality,

They wink from the deep past at this cosmic joke.

Built from dust, from the three laws, from fragments

Of dreams set in motion before any one of us

Rose from the mud, dripping trial and error,

We fall before we rise, hold to belief without assurances,

Broken even while believing we are whole.

Lie now in the soft grasses, raise your hand against the blue,

Dreams- Masters of con

By SZU, published on Oct 11, 2011

I am awake

Unwary of the sleeping death;

As it is unaware of me.

The day it decides to wake up,

it will swindle me to sleep.

And I will

Never be prepared;

For this eternal absence of wakefulness. I often wonder,

if death’s as caught off-guard as life is. If it will ever be prepared for a never-ending vigilance. Maybe it’s sleeping with dreams of waking up one day. As I am awake with dreams of being never put to sleep. Perhaps these dreams are the masters of con… The real cheats , disguised as comfort.
