Mr. Tangerine says Good-bye to 2007

By James Hershiser, published on Dec 28, 2007

... mainly us, going through the usual silly motions of living on this planet called Earth. We might not like it, but face it, folks: we are ALL silly, in one form or another, and the Earth is silly, too. Hey, how else do you explain the weather, the improbability of life itself even existing, Donald Trump's hair? I suggest to you, gentle readers, this: that life IS silly, they are one and the same. I bet Earth even knows who Hannah Montana is. Wow, how silly! So, here's a toast to the end of the Silly Year that was 2007, and a welcome to the Silly Year that will be 2008: as long as ... (more)

Ok, I get it... he's rich

By Glenn T, published on Sep 18, 2007

...was (and his burgeoning success at business school). These, independently, were the feeblest attempts to disguise gold digging with euphemisms for "rich" that I have ever encountered--and they are only the most recent in a long line. It's not as if we men don't get it. We know that Donald Trump did not land his supermodel wife with his "sense of humor," and that Hugh Hefner is not seven-deep in centerfold girlfriends because of his "intellect." Would either of my acquaintances still be enamored with an "independent" painter or an "ambitious" snowboarder? What makes this so... (more)

Trump, O'Reilly, Grace and Carlson get show on Fox News!

By Shawn Norris, published on Aug 10, 2007

... “the most fantastic display of the degradation of western civilization and possible proof that humanity has bottomed out with this sycophantic spectacle of ego mongering and self promotion. “The Horsemen” will be round table of morally challenged personalities consisting of Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, Nancy Grace, Bill O’Reilly, Carrot Top and of course The Dark Lord Satan. Nancy Grace actually grew out her horns and had her hooves polished just for the chance to get into the ring for classy and “relevant” banter with the likes of Trump and... (more)

Will Marie Osmond fill the empty 'View' seat?

By rjlight, published on Jun 1, 2007

...the next to fill the ever-changing View seat will be a less controversial female. Rosie O'Donnell improved the ratings for the show in the year she hosted The View . However, I think she was a bit too combative for Barbara Walter's taste. During her short stint on the show she feuded with Donald Trump, Kelly Ripa and others. It was her heated argument with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck that drove her to leave early. In April O'Donnell had stated that she and the network couldn't agree on a contract and gave a mid-June departure date. After her argument with Hasselbeck she decided to call... (more)

Adios Rosita! You Will Annoy Us No Longer!

By Ed Attanasio, published on Apr 25, 2007

... "and that's show biz. But it's not sad because I loved it here and I love you guys and I'm not going away." O'Donnell has helped increase the chat show's audience by about a half-million a day. But her outspokenness has caused continual controversy, including a nasty name-calling feud with Donald Trump that placed "The View" creator Barbara Walters squarely in the middle. "We have had, to say the least, an interesting year," Walters said. But she said O'Donnell's exit is "not my doing or my choice." Walters was frequently left to clean up the damage after O'Donnell. She did it most... (more)

I am from the Czech Republic. So What?

By Ivana Poulova, published on Apr 8, 2007

... Czech Republic is usually known for its tasty beer (Pilsner Urquell, Budweiser Budvar, Gambrinus, Starobrno and others) - where beer is cheaper than mineral water and soda - ice hockey and soccer players, pretty girls and Ivana Trump (former professional skier, model, and ex-wife of mogul Donald Trump). The hottest news (kind of something to be proud of) is a victory of the blonde eighteen year-old Taťána KuchaÅ™ová in the Miss World competition in Poland. It was the first time in the history of this beauty competition when a Czech girl became the winner. But don’t... (more)

An Eye On The World: an Interview with Gilad Benari

By Ariel, published on Dec 28, 2006

While traditional medias are busy covering topics as significant as whether Miss USA will have to give her title back, or the feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell (her "you went bankrupt", him "you're fat and ugly"), talented individuals are quietly working in the shadow and influence the lives of millions. Gilad Benari is one of them. Gilad is an Israeli photographer, highly respected on, an online art community with over 3.5 million users and over 29 million submissions. Who Deserves More Respect?

By D. E. Carson, published on Dec 21, 2006

...too bad that such a noble cause has soiled itself with the filth of politics. In a related event, Rosie O’Donnell, the loudmouth of daytime television has once again exposed her political ignorance and publicly announced that she is annoyed “on a multitude of levels” at Donald Trump’s decision to allow Miss Conner to retain her crown provided she enters rehab. Of course, all Americans know that Rosie O’Donnell is such a beacon of morality and fairness on daytime television. Her opinions drip of Biblical fairness and justice. Yeah, right. Where does... (more)
