...I was and why I was worth loving. I mean if I couldn’t see the beauty and perfection in myself, how could I expect anyone else to? I began having a love affair with myself. I know that sounds weird, but it is the most highly recommended advice I could ever dole out. The greatest thing about dating myself was I always got to see the movies I wanted, go to the restaurants I wanted and basically got to call all the shots. If you know me on a personal level, this was definitely a match made in heaven.
Of course there was a lot more “work” involved in this courting of myself, but... (more)

3. Kayak the Hudson or East River. Maybe not for a 1st date (unless you decide your date is a jerk in the first few minutes, and you want to take the chance on seeing them tip into the murky East River after a barge comes by) but brilliant for those who are outdoor-inclined.... (more)
...want. Makes sense, I bought it. Fast forward 4 months after meeting and I've heard multiple references to the future possibilties for our relationship. No promises but just that good things seemed possible in our future. My heart is beginning to be invested to the point where the title "dating" has begun to leave a bit of a sting and bitter taste in my mouth. I had been told my heart was wanted, even had permission to fall in love. However, was still not comfortable stating how I felt. I'd heard this before, unfortuantely for those sincere, they are guilty until proven innocent in... (more)
...years now. It's taken some time for me to truly feel comfortable with the idea of spending time with another woman in a romantic situation. I loved my wife very much and lost her to breast cancer. It was a tough battle and extremely painful at the end. But I am finally starting to think about dating again after all this time. I'm pretty sure that this one lovely lady that I recently met through some mutual friends is interested in me. But as far as dating, I really have no idea what the right type of date should be.
We could enjoy a great dinner and maybe head on over to a jazz club ... (more)
...your wants and look for fulfillment of needs.
Step 2 - Make sure you keep in mind how you want the relationship to unfold. Making sure you don't give up your own beliefs and values. Your own goals and needs. Always keep focused on where you want this relationship to go. If you start dating someone and you find that they are not in tune with what you are truly looking for - make the decision early to move on. Don't hold on to something that is not what you want just to have something to hold on to.
Step 3 - Get a close friend involved to help keep you motivated, keep you... (more)

In the dating world, if you asked most people what they look at first in a prospective date, they will more times than not say lips. Especially men. A lot of men are attracted by red lips, which is why it is used in so many forms of advertising. The world of online dating is ever evolving. Sites that are generic are becoming competitors with niche dating sites. Like a giant dating search engine these sites drill down dating to the most basic keyword. Online daters, who are all products of a Google search environment, where they search for something and expect to find what they are looking for drilled down to the last degree on almost anything, want the same things from online dating some of them.
Online niche dating sites run the gamut of society from the accepted to the truly taboo and in some instances the truly disturbing.... (more)
In a comment on my article about blaming someone else other than yourself when something goes wrong in a relationship, words were pointed out to be one of the more hurtful things that can occur in a relationship. No, they don't leave marks on the body, but they leave marks on the soul and the heart, on the spirit and the mind.
In relationships, especially in times of argument or disagreement, words tend to become heated and keeping control of one's tongue can become a monumental task. For some people, they deliberately use words to hurt others. For some, it is just something that... (more)
