A Special Father's Day Tribute

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 16, 2013

I usually don't like to post videos on this site but I found this neat little video to honor all of the fathers and to remind us the importance of fatherhood and the impact that we have on our children. Happy (belated) Father's Day folks!

Taking Time To Take The Time

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 16, 2013

...more independent every day and I can't say I am thrilled with it. I am absolutely happy he is getting older and maturing, but I see my future. Is this why older people get cats or dogs or both? Do they still need to nurture something? It will be a dark day before I buy an animal to replace my children, a real dark day, like Hell freezing over dark. I have my time now, I still have a chance. I found that you cannot tell your children that you are here for them when they are ready because they don't understand and it becomes rather awkward. I know, I have a head full of nonsense... (more)

An Important Way to Save Your Baby's Life

By Coach Phatty, published on Apr 3, 2013

... blog is one of the most important videos that I ever saw. Each year, hundreds, if not thousands of infants and toddlers drown in swimming pools, lakes, ponds, and other bodies of water. The simple technique that you will see is an incredible method that has proven to have saved hundreds of children in the past few years. It is astonishing. I have never seen anything like it and never would have thought that an infant could be taught to stay on his back, floating and breathing for so long.

As a father of two boys (now young men), when I watched this clip, it not only made me... (more)

Those of y'all who were regulars or even know me in real life already know that I find it quite sad that I have to be responsible for Other People's Children while I am at work. Having 3 children of my own of various ages and a young grand daughter I would like to say I have a little experience raising children. I see, in life in general, that many parents don't take the time to teach their children how to act in the real world or when they have a job. I know I cannot be the only person alive that has witnessed young adults in the workplace who need a babysitter to help them get through... (more)

Just LET GO and Then LET GOD!

By HomeRearedChef, published on Feb 13, 2013

...testimony of His awesome Grace and abounding Love. Today I reap my harvest, because I have so many reasons to celebrate and be thankful.

I just celebrated 31 years married. Through the ups and downs we are still going strong, though the odds were against us from the beginning. I have 3 children that I wholly adore; they gave my life reason to be. My children helped me to finally grow up. I have 2 grandsons that I consider the jewels of my heart. And now a 3rd grandchild is on the way. A girl to complete my crown! We have a roof over our heads; we have shoes upon our feet and clothes... (more)

JOHN CENA: “You can’t see me!”

By HomeRearedChef, published on Jan 27, 2013

...splayed open in front of his face—his signature move. That would be John Cena; a professional wrestler, a rapper, and an actor. And at six feet plus one inch tall and weighing roughly 250 pounds of pure, solid muscle, the man is a Titan. And though mere mortal men may fear to approach him children love him!

In March of 2009 John Cena made an appearance at Eastridge Mall in San Jose, in a little store called FYE (For Your Entertainment). He was there to meet his many [little] fans and to sign autographs. My two grandsons were among the throng of fans that day. The line of faithful ... (more)

A Disgusted “Ewww” When Seeing Parents Kissing

By HomeRearedChef, published on Jan 4, 2013

...shriek a “eewww”, “gross” when they see their parents kissing. Do they not know how we felt when we discovered they were no longer “innocent” in ways of the world?

I mean, let’s get real here. I kept my “eewwws” and “gross” to myself!!

I don’t think our children realize how they make us feel every time they utter disgust at seeing us, their parents, hugging and trading spit. Hey, they do it, too! Just because we’ve gotten older and are now grandparents doesn’t mean the action stops! It just means we’ve slowed down in life, but we aren’t dead... (more)
