At 49, Nicolas Cage has enjoyed a pretty successful career in Hollywood, both as an actor and a producer. But he’s now pointing a finger at the industry for discriminating against a certain breed of actors. And his accusations stem from none other than Cage’s young wife, 39-year-old Alice Kim.
Cage recently wrapped up his latest film, Outcast, for which most of the crew was Chinese. When doing an interview to promote the film, Cage slammed Hollywood for not offering viable lead roles for male actors of Asian descent. “I hope that we will see more Chinese actors in American... (more)
Let’s talk about the World Where Publicity CAN Be Bought. Think of Hollywood’s big night, the Oscars, or the football season’s glorious pinnacle otherwise known as the Super Bowl. Companies that want their products and services seen by the masses are willing to pay an arm and a leg for the fleeting privilege. It’s a well-known fact that the cost of commercials during the Super Bowl and the Oscars are exorbitant, with companies willing to pay in the millions of dollars for a 30-second spot. ...help them raise funds which allow them to continue making positive changes in the world. After sunset, you could take my hand but my life would become focused on networking and making connections with people who had a heart for Philanthropy and Deep Pockets, a world that is often filled with celebrities, philanthropists, successful entrepreneurs and politicians. In March of 2009 John Cena made an appearance at Eastridge Mall in San Jose, in a little store called FYE (For Your Entertainment). He was there to meet... (more)
The recent death of actor, Michael Clarke Duncan at such an early age made me stop, and remember all the memorable roles he played during his short time on the silver screen. For instance, I loved him as accused murderer, John Coffey in The Green Mile. He was a huge, extremely powerful-looking man upon first glance. Then, as the storyline unfolded, you couldn’t help but see him in a completely different light—loving, caring, a gentle giant, a person I found wishing I had as a buddy, friend, or next door neighbor. He was actually an angel living inside an extremely intimidating figure, a tough... (more)
I rarely take any interest at all in celebrity marriages, separations and divorces; they are just too, too boring. So far as Hello and other celebrity fanzines are concerned I’m a hopeless cause. However I’ve made an exception for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, whose bust up is bursting out all over our national press. I’ve made an exception because the rift is over Cruise’s scientology fad.
People are strange but one would really have to be strange indeed to embrace this bizarre mishmash, to embrace a cult that is allowed to masquerade in the States as a religion. In writing about... (more)
