Desperate Bears: Favre is just a phone call away

By SanityCheck2, published on Dec 8, 2011

The Chicago Bears who have obtained most of their quarterbacks from the loading docks at UPS or college football powerhouse Vanderbilt are rumored to be so desperate for a quarterback, they are considering pulling Brett Favre’s butt out of a Bass boat in Mississippi and un-retiring for the umpteenth time, the aging wonder.

Two weeks ago, the Bears number one quarterback Jay Cutler was injured attempting to stop a San Diego touchdown reception which unfortunately he had thrown. Given Jay’s performance over the last few years, replacing Cutler should have been a relatively simple thing... (more)

Christians and Sex: This is No Time for Silence

By Thom Hunter, published on Nov 29, 2011

...questions about sex and our society are becoming more common, more consistent and more consuming.

A judge declared that "Don't Ask-Don't Tell" should not be enforced in the military, no matter what the military itself or the American people think.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, who is married, was accused of sending sexual messages and naked photos to a female sports reporter and other women.

Bishop Eddie Long, leader of a 25,000-member megachurch in Atlanta, faced accusations of sexual coercion from four men, former parishioners.

The U.S. Supreme... (more)

Favre Retires ... Again

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 18, 2011

Brett Favre has filed his retirement papers with the NFL...again. He did this the last time he retired as well and we all know how that ended up. I am in the camp of people who will not believe Favre is retired until the first regular season game of 2011 is played. Filing of papers means the Favre world of being anyway. Besides, if he retires half of the sports media will need to get new jobs as he has been their only job for years now.

Favre also stated that he thinks the Packers will go to the Super Bowl and win it. He stated he thinks that Green Bay is by far the... (more)

The Streak

By Deborah Horton, published on Dec 10, 2010

In the NFL, Brett Favre is once again the top story. Will he play this weekend? Will his consecutive games streak end? What about the Jen Sterger investigation now in the hands of Roger Goodell? Can Favre stay in the drama spotlight until the end of the season?

Brett Favre has allegedly had a lot of trouble throwing the ball this week. He has allegedly practiced little to none. Of course, I say allegedly because I believe that anything that comes out of Favre's and the Vikings mouths is subject to speculation. Favre has an insatiable need to be in the spotlight and this is just... (more)

Is This The End?

By Deborah Horton, published on Dec 6, 2010

Brett Favre left the game very early in the 1st quarter on Sunday for the Vikings after suffering a SC sprain (sternoclavicular) to his right throwing shoulder after being hit and put on the ground. It is the first such injury of Favre's career and may be the last.

Favre had an x-ray at the field that was negative for fracture or break. He will have an MRI today. It remains to be seen if he will play next Sunday. I am going to say that if he cannot play and if he may be out significant time, that it may be the end of Favre's career. The Vikings did win yesterday with Tavaris Jackson... (more)

It's Not Them, It's You

By Deborah Horton, published on Oct 25, 2010

The Vikings lost to the Packers 28 to 24 on Sunday and although both teams made their share of errors, the reason the Vikings lost is Brett Favre, plain and simple.

Favre threw 3 interceptions during the game and made numerous bad passes outside of that, like the one at the end of the game out of bounds. But it was a pair of interceptions in the 3rd quarter that cost the Vikings the win. Those 2 interceptions were turned into touchdowns by the Packers. Those two interceptions cost the Vikings the game. Those two interceptions were thrown by Favre.

I'm getting pretty tired... (more)

Help Me Oprah, Help Me Tom Cruise, Help Me Randy Moss

By Deborah Horton, published on Oct 7, 2010

Most of the sports media talking heads would have you believe that Randy Moss will save the Vikings from mediocrity this season by his addition alone. That Randy Moss will save Brett Favre from looking like a complete bonehead for returning to play another season. But their assumptions are wrong.

Randy Moss is a great receiver who was made better by going to New England. The Patriots system of play and their system of player accountability made Moss respectable again. He went from pretend mooner to half of one of the most prolific QB/WR components to ever grace the game. Moss, however,... (more)

Say Goodnight Jay!

By Ed Attanasio, published on Jan 15, 2010

...just the last week. They all agree that Leno should just retire. Does this man embarrass at all? Why does he need more money? Why is NBC still grasping to the sinking boat called U.S.S. Leno? And now he looks like he’ll be forcing Conan O’Brien off the air completely. Leno reminds me of Brett Favre, and Al Davis for a different set of reasons. If Leno, Davis and Favre all retired this weekend, it would be a memorable day and a reason to celebrate. (But there is a matter of playoff game that has to happen first.)

This online article published in the Huffington Post makes a lot of ... (more)
