Al Gore Brings Climate Change Message to Beverly Hills

By Josh Marks, published on Nov 30, 2009

A capacity crowd filed into the Saban Theater's majestic auditorium clutching copies of the glossy illustrative tome, which came with the $40 ticket price.

Introduced by Temple of the Arts Rabbi David Baron, a wiser, at times more humorous (Homer Simpson and Taylor Swift references received laughs) and no less urgent Gore tubthumped his follow-up to "An Inconvenient Truth." Three and a half years ago his wake up call to the world mostly dealt with the daunting problem of climate change, but offered little in the way of solutions.

"Our Choice" is that call to action.

I'm Not Really Laughing Out Loud

By Michael R. Gauthier, published on Dec 6, 2008

...Ahhh!  I can’t believe I did it again.  I’m a fraud.  A liar!  When will this continuous cycle of saying things that aren’t true end?

Here’s the story: I started using the resources of the information superhighway quite some time ago.  Probably not too long after Al Gore invented it.  It has helped with research, shopping, email and, of course, instant messaging.  Ah, the glory of instant messaging: able to communicate with any and all of my friends and family who happen to be online at the same time as me with a few simple clicks.  I say, ‘what’s... (more)

News With A Point Of View

By Morgana, published on Oct 14, 2008

... Technology Leadership (ATL). They then went on to publish covertly Tech Central Station, out of DCI’s offices. The sponsors of Tech Central Station were DCI’s clients ExxonMobile, Microsoft, McDonalds, and PhRMA.

One “toutsmith” posted a video on YouTube spoofing Al Gore. Many wondered why a “kid” would have bought a Google ad for it. A Wall Street Journal reporter traced their e-mail correspondence with “toutsmith” back to DCI.

The people conned into participating by DCI didn’t know these corporations were part of a... (more)

America, The Future Third Reich?

By Lumiere, published on Sep 5, 2008

...has seeds planted within our own government today. Here is a comparison contrast of America and Germany during the Holocaust. Perhaps you can decide ifthefuture of the United States is destined to repeat the past:

1) America: President Bush in the 2000 Elections against Al Gore. Bush narrowly won the November 7 election, with 271 electoral votes to Gore's 266 (with one faithless elector abstaining in the official tally). The election featured a controversy over who won Florida 's 25 electoral votes (and thus the presidency), the recount process in that state, and the ... (more)

They Eat Their Young! They Eat Their Young!

By slowasigo, published on Aug 31, 2008

... placards of the 2000 presidential contest had decomposed in the landfills of America, pollsters vigorously dissected the results to find a spoiler other than Bush, the recount or the Supreme Court decision. It was widely reported that Ralph Nader had siphoned off votes that would have given the Al Gore the presidency. 2,992,955 people voted for Nader. This is how the numbers would have broken down had he not been on the ballot.

1,326,159 (46%) would have picked Gore 893,716 (31%) would have sat out the election. 663,080 (23%) would have favored Bush.

How did this affect the ... (more)

We Really Lost This War!

By Morgana, published on Aug 7, 2008

...of the repeal of Prohibition.

Tell me about the Netherland’s Nobel Prize. At the international Drug Policy Alliance conference in New Orleans in Dec. 2008, the question was raised as to how we could publicize the success of the Dutch policy. I suggested that we learn from Al Gore and nominate the Netherlands for a Nobel Prize and to my surprise there was a 30 second roar of applause. Not one person suggested that it was not a great idea. NORML has followed through and the web site Netherland4Nobel.org is up and we are working on it.

Struggling (already) 08's Most Overused Word

By Brooklyn Genes, published on Aug 2, 2008

...refuses to stick with the words of the Constitution. Ron Paul might have been scary up at the podium, and he is out of the presidential race, but he has awoken a beast which is the real believer in the Constitution. And since we're crossing the political path, let us not forget our pal Al. Al Gore is struggling to convince the world about Global Warming. Is it true he recently jettisoned his infant son off into outer space, to a far off green planet to escape our dying one?

Hey, that three legged dog is struggling to nab that Frisbee out of the air.

The New List Of The Top 500

By D. E. Carson, published on Apr 22, 2008

...list below, you’ve probably already looked down there to see who is on it. That’s fine, but by doing so you missed out on this pretty little paragraph that really doesn’t say anything at all but just tells you that its purpose is to just take up space – kind of like Al Gore at last year’s Oscars.

But in all seriousness (yeah, right) the Fortune 500 gives bragging rights to the companies who are making money hand over fist while bending the general public over a rail. Never let it be said that corporate America doesn’t love its... (more)

Mc Cain Wants To Fix Economy? Here's How!

By D. E. Carson, published on Apr 16, 2008

...at least 30 years old and can’t really keep up with demand. But the fools we’ve had in Congress since 1978 have screwed up letting thumb-sucking, nitwit environmental terrorists badger them into making laws prohibiting the construction of refineries in America, and now with the Al Gore Global Warming Liar’s Club perpetuating the global warming hoax, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell refineries will get built.

If John McCain wants to salvage the economy, here are eleven ways to do it. All of them are practical and possible. They just need ... (more)
