What’s the source of this fear? I think that one would have to be an ancient Mayan not to know – it’s the Mayan Long Count Calendar, which reaches the end of its cycle on 21 December. If you don’t know this you really should have paid attention to 2012, the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster which gave lavish details of the coming apocalypse. “We were warned”, said the movies tagline, a point emphasised by one of the characters who said “The Mayans saw this coming thousands of years ago.”
Hey, let’s step back a little. Let’s ask... (more)

The all new iPhone 5 has been introduced by Apple CEO, Tim Cook earlier today. The keynote presentation started at 7.00pm, when an optimistic Tim Cook appeared on stage and hundreds of people inside the hall started cheering. If a world championship title in the 400-meter wasn't enough, toss in Olympic Gold. And a new national holiday.
19-year old Kirani James took gold in the Men's 400m run on Monday, winning with a time of 43.94 seconds becoming the first Grenadian to win an Olympic gold medal in any event.
"He was in control all the way. Under 44 seconds for the first time in his career - we figured he would do it eventually and he did it just at the right time," said four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson afterwards.
"It means a lot, Grenada will be going crazy right now," James... (more)
The NFL's Hall of Fame weekend usually signals the true countdown until the kickoff of the season.
This year's much-anticipated Hall of Fame weekend saw the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio induct six new members of it's prestigious Hall of Fame on Saturday night, leading up to the usually fun-to-watch Hall of Fame game Sunday.
However, despite the, also much-anticipated, Hall of Fame game between the post-bounty scandal New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals, the NFL suffered a tragic loss as news spread about the sudden discovery of the death of Garrett Reid,... (more)

Have you ever wondered what drives humanity to be overly sexual, or perhaps, not driven enough? In the years in which I've studied humanity as a whole; I've come across various scenarios, yet i have never been able to figure out what makes a person overindulge. I've had many ideas as of why the norm has inflated over the years, but i have not encountered the reasons in which the norm has also depleted. Perhaps the increased availability of material which its beneficial to such overindulgement... (more)
When I bought my Playstation 3 back in 2008, and it had some connectivity with the Playstation Portable, which came out about three years prior, I remember asking my friends if they can imagine if Sony came out with a portable gaming device that had the graphics and capabilities of the PS3.
Four years later, the wait finally came to an end as Sony released their Playstation Vita today.
Some people were lucky to get their hands on Sony's next-generation handheld a week early by ordering the First Edition bundle, and some even ordered ithe Japanese model that was released late last... (more)
...brave into the inspiration zone do not suffer any less, for they too are known to engage in self –destructive activities, but their demons are exposed to the world, and through the act of unburdening and sharing, healing may be expected, though not always granted. This latter category is usually labelled “writer.”
With 2012 upon us, the year in which great change was predicted from way back at the time of the Mayans, where do you want to play? Are you prepared to enter through the door into your inspiration zone or do you want to leave it for another generation to discover?(more)
The first thing to do is not to panic. There will be no destruction of the entire planet and no rapture with billions left behind. However, if you at followed the news in 2011 and extend those events more dramatically into 2012, you will have a sense of what may happen in the coming months. Economies can’t rebound anymore as they are based upon false premises and the lies are rapidly catching up with themselves. As for climate change, we haven’t seen anything yet. Food production is becoming a major global issue as well as the supply of portable water. Those who have not been affected by a... (more)
...negative. I wasn’t even hoping that every nice thing I did would be repaid. Life doesn’t work like that. I don’t work like that. No-one should need a reason to be nice. Nonetheless, I’ve encountered some… shall we say, unpleasant… people during 2011 and I wanted to shield myself in 2012.
I then received a lovely message from a gentleman that completely turned my thinking around. He told me that he was going to continue being nice to the nasty, the cranky etc. That it’s easy to love the nice things and turn a blind eye to the uglier things in life. His message was... (more)
