The Deficit Under Obama

By Hope for Change, published on Feb 14, 2012

...this is simply immoral, this will lead to a still weaker economy, which will further reduce revenues, which will further increase the deficit.

Obama knows he can’t get reelected on his record. He has shown what his strategy will be - to appeal to those who want something for free and hope there are enough of them. His campaign will be a never ending stream of commercials and speeches where he tells Americans that he is their Robin Hood – he will take from the rich and give to them. It’s up to those of us who understand how wrong this is for America to spread the word and... (more)

Let's Get Rid of Hope, Once and For All

By Notumbus Bumbus, published on Jan 3, 2012

...next election isn't about Republicans v. Democrats, no siree. And it's not about right v. left. Uh-uh. It's about real American values. It's about an America where real people have real feelings, and do real things to those who think differently. Like people who are always spouting off about hope, and the future, and tomoorrow. I mean, what's up with that, anyway? Tomorrow? It isn't even here yet, and these people keep harping on about it like it was something we need to worry about right now. The future? Well, duh, that's just the day after tomorrow, so big diff, right? And hope? Oh,... (more)

Hope v. Fear: Yes, You Can Get Blood From a Turnip

By Notumbus Bumbus, published on Jan 13, 2012

...and thought, they can appear quite different, and yet, not so very different at all. But there is one way in which their differences manifest that I find most striking: their outlook on the future.

These respective outlooks can be boiled down to several word oppositions” yes v. no, hope v. fear, future v. past. And we see these oppositions in full relief during this current Roman Coliseum brawl called the 2012 elections. Most pointedly from the Republican camp, the rhetoric is almost predictable: we must return to, they seek to destroy, they want to force you, we need to return ... (more)

In the wings of hope

By Cielo, published on Feb 8, 2012

IN THE WINGS OF HOPE

Suspended about all things

Turning spinning whirling

In wings of angels in clouds so white imagination ignite

The breadth of view; words beyond describe,

Glimmering stars in hair strung

Moon dust in eyelashes glimmer

Ghost moon

Shimmering imp

In reverie warp, to find liberation from limits

Rising above blunder

From the River of Existential Despair

(Hanging from my fingernails)

Tackling Pluto,

Striding the edge of Ceres

From Despair to Hope

In distant galaxies... (more)

New Story Line of Hope

By Uttam Gill, published on May 6, 2012

...I let temptation to construct my edges first and thereafter as a prelude, I accept the peripheral incursion. And that’s when I try and feel my genuine existence. Prudently, I keep a check on fault lines of apprehensions. In the defining outlines, I see real and that’s how I unwind my perplexity. I begin to understand that others too have edges and they are real. They too cautiously tread into turbulent zone of life. They have their own story and when I read that, I get to know more.

There are many like us and without demarcation, I am drafting a new story line of hope.

Time again to hope again. Tick tock. Tick tock.

By BusinessLife, published on Apr 24, 2011

... thoughts. Should I? Should I not? Would I, if I were 20 years younger or would I not?

But does it really matter much anyway? No matter the number of steps forward I take to connect, I find myself wanting to step back, almost as if never moving forward at all. But am I not supposed to keep hope alive?

Tick tock. The clock moves on.

And here I am no different than I was a moment ago...or was it 10 years ago? I really can't seem to tell much difference.

Sometimes time moves. Sometimes I'm not quite sure. I think the light has faded a bit. So time must have moved... (more)

The Audacity of Hope

By Elisa Ashley, published on Jul 17, 2011

...She didn't go to work that day and instead went to her gynecologist who gave her a quick vaginal ultrasound and the first peek at her baby.

Clothes, cologne, pictures and memories weren't all she had left of Jason. Part of him was alive and growing inside her. For the first time since he died Maggie felt true hope and the healing rays of happiness. After the doctor left the exam room Maggie looked heavenward and smiled.

"Thank you, Jason. Even now you're looking after me."

For the first time since he died there was more in her heart than just the sensation of pain.

Hope Abandoned

By Anastasia , published on Jul 21, 2011

...leaders, who control ever aspect of their lives, even determining whether they live or whether they die. The profits are phenomenal. According to El Universal, one of the country’s newspapers, they total £2.5million ($4million) a year for an average prison.

The situation is quite hopeless. Whenever the opposition or the media raise the subject of prison conditions they are simply accused of trying to undermine the government, the usual excuse offered when any criticism is offered in Chavez’ socialist utopia.

...into motherhood, Jaycee saw a new meaning in her lost life with the birth of her two daughters. She says that her daughters brought her companionship during her imprisonment years with her captor. But in the midst of her solitude, and physical and mental cruciation, Jaycee never ceased to hope.
