Is The 2012 Election Better Than the Black Death?

...and rights - only help those who are already so well off they don’t really need any help. All this time, I thought the Right was opposed to welfare. But now we know the truth – they LOVE welfare – for the well-off. Just not for the well-screwed, poorly paid, well-fleeced, and poorly-considered masses.

Would someone please tell me – how is this any different than the Middle Ages? You know - serfs, power in the hands of the wealthy, no middle class, abcesses, witch burnings, book burnings, religious pogroms, crusades? I mean, besides the apparent absence of the Black Death?

...us. Yet, here we are, decades down a road He laid out for us and we're still ignoring the bodies by the roadside. ...Against all the pressure it resisted, and Griffin duly appeared.

What did we see, what happened? What we saw was a desperately silly little man. There he was, grinning inanely, nervous, evasive, sweating, trembling, ingratiating, hopeless in every way. Death by Debt

...is going to pay what? Never mind that. Rejoice; the crisis is over; the euro lives; the European ideal lives. The crisis is over…until the next time.

My goodness, not even I foresaw that the ‘next time’ would be a fortnight later! The rolling show rolls. A little like the Black Death of the fourteenth century, the contagion has now entered Italy and Spain.
