Atlanta: Southern Charm, World Class

By tnecvolfan2001, published on Jan 16, 2008

Actually, the title here was my submission for a new Atlanta slogan apparently to replace an ages-old one about the city being too busy to hate. But they changed that a couple of years ago to one I thought was really good cause it made me think of my beloved Atlanta Braves. The slogan was to be a part of a new branding of Atlanta that included a "Coca Cola" red and white design. Oh yea, the slogan was Atlanta: Where Everyday Is Opening Day. The city is not really known as a baseball town, but if you're a sports fan that lives here, you know that the Braves are really the only major league team... (more)

Is Atlanta Ready???

By Meegsiller, published on Jun 14, 2007

Yeah it is pretty, everyday more and more blue buildings all over the city. One day you pass by a sandwich shop, and the next week is gone, just rumble and dust. That is progress, yes sir! This little chihuahua with the face of a Bulldog that is Atlanta wants to play hard ball with the rest of the world. Don't get me wrong, Atlanta is a cool city and everything, but, to my standards, and i know i also speak for a lot of people in this comment, is not a well grown city, is like right now is in the path of leaving the teenage years, those in which mom and dad don't help much anymore. The reason... (more)

Georgia Tech Hacked

By Atlanta, published on Jun 14, 2007

Georgia Tech officials declared today that a file containing personal data of about 23,000 of students and alumni was exposed for a short period of time and that there was evidence that this data had been accessed. The students concerned followed computing classes between the years of 2005 and 2007. Gatech claims however that the file did not contain any financial information and that Social Security Numbers and credit card information have not been accessed. Students whom information was contained in the file received the following email in the early afternoon: "Dear Student: On June... (more)

Michael Buble' - Atlanta Bound

By kpbell3, published on Jun 19, 2007

...him. But, it's so terribly hard to hate someone who has so much going for him. Humor, motivation, sincerity and just plain old natural, raw talent. Well, that and actress Emily Blunt, to boot. A velvety-smooth voice is his name and jazz standards is his game. Buble' will be returning to Atlanta on August 13 and 14 of this year for another run at entertaining us at the Fox Theatre. But it will be much more than your average concert; Buble' followers will be out and about and they are not your typical fans. A quick visit to the forums at michaelbuble.com or bungalow-b.com will... (more)

Willie's Wisdom 6

By Gurmeet Mattu, published on Jan 4, 2010

...She even went to the lengths of phoning the police and having me arrested. But I was merely lurking in the undergrowth to have a peek at my wife while she was undressing, as she is an exhibitionist. How can I convince the authorities that this was consensual between two adults?Norbert, Atlanta GaDear Norbert,The only way I can see for your wife to convince a court that she is an exhibitionist, and you are innocent, is for her to fling off her garments in the witness box. On second thoughts, I believe you deserve jail time, as any man who wants to watch his wife undressing is... (more)

2-Point Conversing: The Super Picks

By 2-Point Conversing, published on Jan 9, 2010

...same New York Jets that are “led” by a rookie quarterback who tossed more than twenty interceptions this season, backed into the playoffs by beating second string players on the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals, and after suffering an embarrassing home loss to the injury-ridden Atlanta Falcons three weeks ago, were discounted from playoff contention by every football fan, their mothers, and even Ryan himself.

The world should have stared at Ryan as if he were a delusional idiot. Instead, we laughed, and then were forced to consider his arguments.

He does have... (more)

2-Point Conversing: Super Bowl XLIV

By 2-Point Conversing, published on Feb 2, 2010

...other. There is a reason so many wild card teams have won, let alone reached, the Super Bowl in recent history. Challenges during the regular season fuel fires to avenge disappointments and disprove doubters.

The Indianapolis Colts are prone to succumbing to what I call A.B.C. – the Atlanta Braves Complex. They breezed through the regular season with potent professionalism, but have not developed the heart or charisma to win on the big stage.

Despite earning the NFC’s top seed, the New Orleans Saints are the complete opposite. After decades of dismal displays, this... (more)
