I am having problems coping with the end of a ten-year friendship. My friend’s morals and values shifted majorly starting two years ago; so much to the point that she was willing to give up her marriage and family for an underage boy. Yes, she did her time, and yes, I stood by her through it all…even when I did not feel comfortable doing so. However, now that she is “free,” she no longer communicates with me. Do you think I should continue calling/texting/emailing, in hopes of a response, or do I need to take the hint and start attempting to deal with the loss?... (more)
I remember seeing the wall. Actually, heading right for it at top speed and consciously making the decision to deal with the consequences afterwards. Why? Well, in that particular moment, it seemed easier to just go with well, what seemed easier; the short term. The getting of what I wanted when I wanted it. Of course in the long run it wasn’t easier. I was reckless. I was reckless with my own heart. Nobody else’s. Just mine. Which is the worst kind of reckless. If you don’t care about your own well-being, then you certainly aren’t truly caring about anyone else’s. You can fool yourself into... (more)

You’ll never know how something so simple as your smile can influence or change someone’s life. You’ll never know, until you’re told. I was and now I’m sharing it with you.
I’ve never been one to hold back a smile. It’s just always been a part of who I am. My mom always had one plastered on her face and its probably where I learned it from. I never TRULY knew how a smile can really change someone’s attitude until I started working in the restaurant industry as a server. I would see these people come in to eat and they would just be so unhappy when I approached the table. I would... (more)
I don't generally make such public outcries as far as what others do with their lives, but I have to say that I am completely sickened by this whole thing. NOT by the publicity around the wedding or even people's interest in the wedding. By all means, there is a demand to see a fairy tale lived out in real life. I don't even care that it's on every news channel, every news feed online or coming out of people's mouths. But I DO care that 34 MILLION dollars was spent on a wedding when there are dying, starving, sick and homeless people around the world that could be SAVED with the money... (more)
I live for “a-ha” moments. Sometimes I forget that these are the moments that make up all the beautiful parts of our lives. We are always trying to get to a certain goal or destination and all the lessons and experiences along the way we just glaze over because we are so focused on the end result. The journey is the destination. I love that. Dr.Michael Beckwith said that the other day at Agape Spiritual Center here in Los Angeles and it just rings so true in my heart.
It’s funny how someone can you tell you something and you “hear” it, but you don’t really feel it. It doesn’t... (more)
Do you often find yourself questioning the motives or actions of another and thinking, “I can’t believe they did that”?! Here’s an eye opener for ya! We usually recognize in others things about ourselves whether they are bad or good. What? You mean I act that way too??
Sorry to say, but usually yes! I mean, how is it that you can possibly say what someone is thinking unless you more than likely have experienced it yourself? It is from your point of reality. From the perspective of two different people looking into a situation, they both observe completely different things even... (more)
I just saw the clip where Whoopi Goldberg was defending her statement defending Mel Gibson saying she knows personally that he is not a racist. I am not here to defend her, to criticize him, anyone else. What I want to focus on was her defense and what got me so heated. She said she knows from personal experience from him (which none of us do) more intimate details about the man. Fine. What she was saying was that sometimes you just call people names and her very heartfelt example was that when she is driving in a car and someone cuts her off, she says it doesnt matter if you are black, white,... I spend the majority of my days spreading smiles and trying to do my part in making this world a bit more enjoyable and honestly, just really loving one another and loving life! I mean, even if alternate life does exist before or after death, this is all I'm aware of right now in this moment. So for me, the present is what I know, and the present is what I stay in. Is life perfect at all times? Absolutely not. But then, that would get kind of boring after awhile. We all need to be shaken up at times and reminded of what's truly important.
My good friend and actress/director/humanitarian... (more)
In a world with social networking sites as a basis for a lot of our communication, it's sometimes hard to form "real" and "true" relationships right off the bat, and nor should or do you have to for that matter. However, people feel they can form true opinions of you from your "status updates". Granted, some of them speak volumes about some of us, however, there are those that people try to dig deeper into, and suddenly want to solicit advice and become your therapist. Sometimes, I REALLY do just want to sit in the dark and watch a sad movie because crying feels really good. Plus, I'm an... (more)
