Worms Are For Wussies

By Scorpion Sting, published on May 10, 2013

Back in the early 90s I had the rare opportunity to live in northern Japan while serving in the United States Air Force. I had considered myself, in the beginning, a decent drinker. Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, and Crown Royal were all my friends whom I knew very well by the time I turned 19. I have a hidden talent that I used to my advantage to win many bets and make a fair amount of money in the process. I have no gag reflex at all and I can breath thru my nose while chugging whatever I am chugging eliminating the need to stop for a breath in the middle. I was born with... (more)

Yes Ma'am, We Won't Get Muddy

By Scorpion Sting, published on May 9, 2013

Famous last words of a boy who is headed out to play in the mud with his ol' man. We both knew before we left the shop to head down to the creek that there was a 100% chance that we would soon be wet and muddy. But, let's back up just a bit. This past Sunday I had plans with my son to go ATV riding down at the creek. We have been putting it off because where we like to go has been under water for the last few weeks. When we went to go look we were pleased because it appeared to as if the water had began to run off. So, we thought it was okay to go riding. For the most part most, the areas... (more)

Bargain Hunting, How Do You Do It?

By Scorpion Sting, published on May 9, 2013

Have you ever been looking on Craigslist for something, find it, and when you get there to pick it up you find something else you hope is for sale? I have run across this situation on more than one occasion in the past. When that happens it usually hurts my wallet because I wasn't prepared to spend anything extra. Anyway, I had been in contact with an older gentleman here in Houston in regards to some antique Singer sewing machines he had up for sale. He agreed to let me come have a look and see if I was still interested. I felt the price was a bit high because they were in exceptional bad... (more)

Brand Loyalty vs. Customer Service

By Scorpion Sting, published on May 9, 2013

Over the years, that's over many many years for you young pups, I tend to buy the same name brand repeatedly when I find one that offers quality. Usually I am not too picky on price since I take care of my stuff and I usually get my money's worth. Y'all have read, here and before, that I have found brands that I'm loyal to as well as brands I steer away from for one reason or many reasons. Which is why I'm here today, I have been an Oakley fan since back in my days in the Air Force. I still have a pair of clear safety glasses as well as a pair of impact resistant racquetball safety glasses... (more)

Is Everything Always For Sale?

By Scorpion Sting, published on May 7, 2013

Have you ever wondered that? Can you put a price on the things you own? Is there always someone who wants your things more than you? Are the things in your life for sale if the price is right even if you haven't thought of it being for sale in the first place? Does money really talk. Is money really the defining answer to all questions? I thought that I was a rare breed since I am usually the one who sees something someone else owns and try to purchase or trade something for it. Not everyone operates like this I understand, but it has been my way of doing business for quite sometime now. Recently... (more)

A Mess In A Mess Caused A Mess

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 30, 2013

This past Sunday I was down at the creek behind my house wandering around to see what I was up against. I have spent the last few summers clearing the area behind my property because it seems that it is a choke point where all the junk from up the creek ends up. There is one area that is so narrow that in the heat of the summer one can almost walk across it without getting their shoes wet. This seems to be a favored spot for all things in the creek to just give up and stop. It doesn't seem to help when an old tree falls in a recent thunderstorm and chokes it off completely. Which is what I... (more)

Girls, Girls, Girls, And More Girls

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 29, 2013

In a few ways I really miss being a bartender. In a few ways I even miss being a bartender in a full nude strip bar. The environment in a strip bar is very different than working in a regular bar or even in a restaurant. Y'all might be thinking that the only real difference would be the scenery. In many ways y'all would be right assuming that. However, as a person that has worked at a multitude of bars in a variety of settings, I can personally say that the strip bar is totally a different world. Most things can be considered a bit upside down, a bit strange, and definitely very loud. I enjoy... (more)

Finding A Treasure By Accident

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 25, 2013

First of all, let this serve as a lesson on how to be reminded that your wife is always in charge. Whether you want to accept this little factoid or not is not the question, but it is definitely the answer. Even tho I am very good at what I do some things are a pretty hard sell. But, I am getting ahead of myself totally here. So, Let me start at the beginning where everything started so y'all don't get even more lost than usual. Anyway, not too terribly long ago I got a phone call from my mother-in-law where she proceeded to explain to me that her cousin's uncle's father's niece's father (or... (more)

The Harboring Of Pedophiles

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 25, 2013

Recently I found myself caught up in a conversation with an individual with some real bizarre beliefs. In continued conversation in a public forum, both were rather short to say the least, I began to paint a picture of this individual in my mind. Before I get into what I think about this sick bastard I would like to warn you that many of y’all, to include Christians, pedophiles, and enablers, will probably take great offense for this post. If you do not have the stomach for the truth then take this opportunity and turn away and turn your back on the truth about this particular Christian who... (more)

Bacon Wrapped Kickin' Smoked Rabbit

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 19, 2013

I recently found myself wanting rabbit. Rabbit isn't a complicated meat to cook and there is a variety of ways to prepare and cook it. Since I tend to smoke, roast, or grill any meat cooked at my house, I chose that I wanted to get some rabbit ready for smoking. Before I begin I will tell all of you that the rabbits used to make this meal were killed by me, field dressed by me, later skinned by me, and eventually placed in my freezer by me. The rabbits were killed using a bow and arrow by me and my son on my property in late January this year. I have learned that killing and immediately eating... (more)
