Los Angeles-The Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza popular BHCP LIVE! is the place to be throughout the Summer months in Los Angeles. They have already hosted R&B band Loose Ends and Klymaxx-an all-female R&B/funk group. The Mall collaborated with the Playboy Jazz Festival for a special concert featuring 1+One consisting of Patrice Rushen and Ndugu Chancler with special guest Paul Jackson Jr. and The Harmony Project. Several weeks ago, Alexander O'Neal and Cherrelle graced the stage.
Harold and Belles Block Party and Crawfish Boil
Los Angeles- Summer would not be complete without a Block Party. Throw in some all you can eat cuisine, entertainment, dance lessons, and face paintings for the kids. You now have the recipe for a successful down home Southern Style Party.

Long Beach-I returned to the Rainbow Lagoon Park Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd for the 27th Annual Long Beach Bayou and Blues Festival. This is a great way to welcome in the Summer season in a festive celebration by partying and dancing with family, friends. Natives of Louisiana and Texas were joined by locals to get their weekend dose of Louisiana culture through music, dance and food.

Long Beach-Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler- Let the Good Times Roll. I can't seem to get the following lyrics out of my head. The lyrics are featured front and center in my mind everytime I prepare to attend another music festival. For me, this is a good thing to be having these symptoms this time of the year. This was the second concert of the series leading up to the 35th Anniversary Playboy Jazz Festival at the historic, landmark Hollywood Bowl, Fathers Day Weekend, June 15-16, 2013.
