Long Beach-In recognition of African-American History Month, the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), hosted its annual Afro-Latino Festival, Sunday, February 17,2013. This popular event celebrated African Heritage in Latin America through captivating storytelling, movement and music. Every year I look forward to the Target Free Sundays @MOLAA Afro-Latino Festival. Carnival Time and Super Bowl Week in New Orleans

New Orleans - I returned to New Orleans, Sunday, January 27 through Thursday, January 31,2013 for the umpteenth time to partake in Carnival season and Super Bowl Week activities. The locals affectionally referred to as "Super Gras". This short trip to the Crescent City, aka N'Awlins was filled with many memorable events. The theme of my visit was Family, Friends, Food and Football.

New Orleans - The weather Gods looked downed favorably upon New Orleans just in time for the Vince Lombardi Trophy Ceremony. The rain cleared out and the sun made a stellar appearance in the afternoon. New Orleans - The most anticipated and or dreaded event (depending on who you talk to) has come and gone. I'm speaking about the Super Bowl Media Day Fueled by Gatorade. Five thousand journalists (legitimate and otherwise) from all over the world were given the chance to interview members of both the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens before a live audience, prior to Super Bowl 47, at the Mercedes Benz Super Dome. Los Angeles - Thousands of music lovers of all ages were in attendance at L.A. LIVE, Saturday, December 15, 2012 for the Third Annual Rock the Red Kettle Concert benefiting The Salvation Army. The concert was produced by Specktor Media. During this festive season of the year, L.A. LIVE is sparkling with seasonal sounds and festive sights that produces countless smiles for all in attendance. The concert is part of AEG's Season of Giving, its annual holiday charitable initiative to provide funding and awareness opportunities for charities, foundations and non-profit organizations.

There's No Place Like Olvera Street for the Holidays

Los Angeles - El Pueblo de Los Angeles Monument and El Pueblo Park Association presented the 2012 Holiday Season Lighting Ceremony at historic Olvera Street. The event was held on Friday, November 30th, from 5pm-9pm, on a cold, soggy evening.

The event featured LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, Councilmember Tom LaBonge, District 4, City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, Miguel Vargas from the Office of Councilmember Jose Huizar, District 14,and some Royalty. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Queen and Court was also present for the festivitites.
