The Banking Crisis CEO's & Salaries

By Lila M., published on Sep 19, 2008

While many struggle to save their retirement funds, homes and jobs, there are a few individuals who will still take home their annual eight digit salaries. In lieu of the banking crisis, which I have also have been financially affected by, I’ve read articles and stories and checked facts on who exactly the CEO’s of these big financial corporations in distress are. I’ve put together a list of the salaries some of the ‘geniuses’ behind these falling companies will profit despite the bailout on Wall Street. Not only are these salaries unbelievable, but some of these individuals could... (more)

“the Business Of Purity Rings”

By Lila M., published on Sep 11, 2008

Just the other day, I was filling a friend in about the MTV Awards night I attended and the subject of the ‘purity rings’ joke came up. My friend didn’t understand why the joke that was made about the Jonas Brothers purity rings was such a big deal, but then again, he is a guy well in his 30's who we’ve witnessed likes ‘em as young as 19, soalready we know something's not right up there. I explained to him that it was off color for a lot of reasons.

There's an abundance of inappropriate jokes that are made these days, which yes, arevery funnyand usually... (more)

Recreating The Big Bang?

By Lila M., published on Sep 9, 2008

Put your differences (or hatred) aside for the candidates for just a minute and think about this. Tomorrow evening Scientists plan to unleash an experiment that will recreate the ‘Big Bang’ theory. For over 15 years Scientists held up in a facility on the border of France and Switzerland have been building a machine called the Large Hadron Collider to recreate the immediate aftermath of the Big Bang. The Large Hadron Collider or LHC smashes protons moving at the speed of light into each other which then recreates the same conditions that happened a fraction of a second after the... (more)

She's Hot, But Psycho?

By Lila M., published on Jun 3, 2008

As an EX Laker fan and someone who worked at one big sports network for years, I have always wondered about some of these pro athletes wives. More recently after reading El G’s article about yet another Kobe Bryant affair/scandal rumor, I started thinking about one particular pro athlete wife that is showing signs that she just might be……psycho.

There is nothing more frighteningthen a psycho woman. Women who are psycho are evil, pure and simple. Crazy to the core….with no capacity to understand or reason and they do not embody any kind of moral judgment.... (more)

Is Hooker The New Cool?

By Lila M., published on Apr 3, 2008

Recently it was having a tattoo that was cool, then being a stripper was cool…then being a tattooed stripper became cool ...and could land you an Oscar and a gig with Spielberg.

Well, all that’s done, it’s on to the next trend. Hooker is now the other white meat or the new “cool”. It’s like the oldest profession in the world has somehow gotten a much needed shower and makeover and become the newest craze. With people like the unoriginal, wigwearing, bandwagon jumper Donald Trump vying desparately to get Spitzer’s hooker for his own version (as coined) of “you, me and Dupre”….to... (more)

"DIY" Paternity Tests

By Lila M., published on Mar 27, 2008

Think you’re the baby daddy? Or disputing the allegations? It has become almost a trend in our culture, and now questioning couples will have the chance to find out who is the father of the baby without having to subject themselves to an embarrassing Springer or Povich type fiasco where chairs, shoes and the ever so popular phrase “I told you so bitch” will no doubt be thrown.

That’s correct, DIY Paternity tests are now being sold in 30 states nationwide and marketed as Identigene wedged between condoms and pregnancy tests in pharmacy... (more)

A Lesson In Road Rage

By Lila M., published on Mar 26, 2008

You never know if it will happen to you, but more and more Road Rage cases are popping up yearly. There are over 1200 cases of road rage that are actually reported on the books each year, as manynever report such instances. But not all states have enacted an aggressive “road rage” law where offenders are charged with an assault and battery or vehicular manslaughter if someone is killed in the incident. Web sites such as AboveAverageDriver.com have been set up to provide an outlet for the average “road rager” to vent their frustrations. But just as there are severe penalties... (more)

4,000 And Counting...

By Lila M., published on Mar 26, 2008

As the Iraq war death toll rises to a grim 4,000, one can’t help but wonder what direction are we going in? Why can’t anyone speak up and admit that this has gone too far? We all want national security, the right to protect ourselves, our country and our future as we are entitled to it. But at what cost? When do we stop listening to scare tactics and start realizing that our U.S. troops are fighting in a country where none of the 9/11 terrorists came from. The facts - 15 were from Saudi Arabia, 2 from United Arab Emirates, 1 from Egypt and 1 from Lebanon. None were from the countries we... (more)

Cellfish Airlines Want Cell Phone Usage

By Lila M., published on Feb 28, 2008

Remember in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s when banning smoking on flights became the hot topic with airlines. Once this was enforced and you heard the ‘ding’ of the no-smoking sign, you were free to enjoy the rest of your smoke free flight. Which meant people either read a book, a magazine, watched the in-flight movie, used their earphones for music, or simply took a nap.

Well that is about to change this year. Cell phones and the Internet are officially being used on international flights in several countries and looking to be approved here in the... (more)

Hollywood's Trash, Society's Treasure

By Lila M., published on Feb 23, 2008

We’ve all heard the saying, “one person’s trash is another’s treasure…”, well apparently it has become just that. Hollywood’s trash has become society’s treasures. This is ever present in the case of the motley crew of rich celebutantes who have defaced and stripped the once glitzy and alluring city with all its class and wonderment and turned it into a cheap version of the Bunny Ranch which even Ron Jeremy wouldn’t dare touch.

Unfortunately, the new wave of brat pack known as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and the rest of this booze (and bodily fluid) stained crew have... (more)
