Liposuction for body fat loss can be tempting

Liposuction is a very personal decision not only in choice but also in terms of us each having our own genetics that decide how and where we have body fat loss . I do not think it is wrong for all people, with that said I would think it is wrong for more than 99% of people. It would be wrong in my opinion because those results can be attained from living a proper lifestyle that included dieting, working out, and by taking nutrional supplements. The people who actually try of all these avenues and do not see results are probably suffering... (more)

Diet conversations I have are usually about psychology

By Lartinos, published on Mar 18, 2013

Everyone wants to know more information about dieting as there is a tremendous amount of ignorance in the world as how to properly run a diet. To get good and not great results you do not need to actually know all that much. It is common sense that sugar is indeed not good for dieting, but many people simply rationalize the decisions they make so their world makes sense on their own terms. I was once one of these people who were totally addicted to sugar and therefore blinded to the rationalizations that I made. Conquering weight loss can very often lead to other great changes in our life as... (more)

Take fiber or suffer the consequences

By Lartinos, published on Mar 15, 2013

Many people have heard that fiber is good for you, but why exactly is fiber so good for dieting and overall health? Studies have shown fiber decreases body weight, can possibly extend life expectancy, and may even increase muscle mass. Fiber also helps regulate our bowel movements as well; That means it will help you whether you are either constipated or suffering from diarrhea, something that everyone must deal with at some point. Just knowing the benefits of fiber does not fix the problem of having a shortage of this important nutrient, we must plan ahead or there is an excellent... (more)

How exactly do you read a nutritional label?

By Lartinos, published on Feb 13, 2013

Serving Size: Near the very top of the label you will find the serving size. This is simply just the amount of product in one serving of the item you want to buy. The problem that people run into with this information comes down to whether or not the amount shown is actually a serving or not. Manufacturers will purposely put a smaller amount so that you are led to believe it has less carbohydrates and saturated fat than it really has. That is why it is especially important to check out how much a serving indeed is. From there you can judge exactly how many servings you will actually... (more)

Vitamin C is a lot more important than you think

By Lartinos, published on Feb 12, 2013

You often hear the word essential thrown around in your day to day life in a cavalier manner. It is not an important vitamin, it is actually essential in that we cannot survive without. Our bodies can synthesize many other vitamins, but with vitamin C the only way to get it into our body is from the food and supplements that we consume. The only other animals that cannot synthesize Vitamin C are bats, guinea pigs, capybaras, and other primates. Every other animal including our pets like dogs for example can simply make Vitamin C from other parts of it’s body.

When someone does not get... (more)

Diet for the right reason and don't just

By Lartinos, published on Feb 4, 2013

Really think about why you are trying to lose this weight. Are you trying to lose this weight so you can buy yourself a gift at the end? Are you trying to lose this weight so you can treat yourself with an unhealthy food at the end? Too many of you out there forget the real benefit of losing the weight… is actually losing the weight. There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to something special. The problem is that people forget that the real joy is setting a goal that we really want and sticking to it. If that goal alone is not enough to motivate you than you may not have what it takes... (more)

10 Reasons you are not losing weight!

By Lartinos, published on Jan 28, 2013

1. Rationalizing what we eat: Rationalizing is our way of making sense about things that we may not understand fully. Very often we will put stock in something that is false just because it make us feel better about not sticking to our diet. “Just one Brownie won’t hurt” Actually it will hurt you as one brownie has 39 grams of carbohydrates in which most are sugar to boot. Instead of just rationalizing everything it is better to be totally honest with your self about whether or not what we eat is actually “ok.”

2. One of the biggest reasons we rationalize our the food we eat is because... (more)

You're hungry because you are not dieting correctly!

By Lartinos, published on Jan 7, 2013

“I can’t diet because I am hungry all the time!” I am sure you have either heard someone say this or you have said it yourself. It is very common for people to drastically change their diet without putting much thought into the process at all. Would be dieters end up with terrible hunger pains because of their lack of planning. Their old diet filled with carbohydrates and saturated fats would leave them full and happy in the short term, and of course with a larger waist line than they would like for themselves.

The key to staying full after meals that stay on your on diet depend on the... (more)

Understanding nutritional labels is vital to losing weight

By Lartinos, published on Jan 3, 2013

It is important to read nutritional labels when you out shopping. Unfortunately most people are ignorant as how to properly read these labels. Most people pick up a product and only check the calorie count, which is not a good gauge a food’s impact on your body as I explained in an earlier blog.

As you pick up a box and look at the label there are different words and numbers staring back at you. Instead of looking at the calories take a look at the total number sugars first and foremost. Sugar has a tremendous effect on our waist line because of it’s effect on our insulin levels. After... (more)
