Baby Steps To Dating Success

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

A lot of times those who are looking for a relationship want one so badly they forgo all the necessary steps in trying to find one that will actually last and are just willing to settle for a warm body. Just so long as there is someone there, a lot of singles seem okay with the fact that it's most likely the wrong someone. With a few baby steps though, it can be an even greater success that ends in finding at the very least someone you can be good friends with and have a lasting relationship and quite possibly someone to be in love with.

Step 1 - Look for someone who can fulfill your... (more)

Respect

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

Let's say that Big Ben and the Steelers win the Super Bowl. Let's say they win it by a lot. Leave no doubt as to who the better team is. Will Ben get the same respect as Tom? As Terry? Or will his off the field issues still cloud his on the field successes?

I have been keeping up with the online rhetoric from fans, bloggers, forum posters and it is still about 5 to 1 people who are holding Ben's off the field issues higher than his on the field accomplishments. The words rapist come out all the time. There are many people who are convinced that he was guilty on every occasion and... (more)

Another Year Gone

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

Today is my birthday. Another year gone. Time flies by. Hard to believe another year has passed me by. Getting older is both good and bad. I think as I get older I am just glad to be here. Over time, you come to accept things you cannot change and if you are smart learn to live without regret. There are things you learn from and move on. The past is experience not something you never let go of. Regret is something I am unfamiliar with. To regret means that parts of yourself especially ones soul still lives in the past and doing so is not moving forward. As you get older, you find... (more)

NFL Championship Games Thoughts

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

I have had the flu for the past few days and have spent much of that time in bed sick. I did drag myself out of bed for part of the championship games on Sunday but from what little I saw, I missed little. The Packers and the Steelers won but neither team played to their potential while the Jets and Bears played exactly to their potential.

The Packers had their game well in hand as Jay Cutler exhibited the characteristic he is most known for and why he is so disliked by players and fans - narcissism. Cutler is all about me - not the team. He is not a leader. He is in fact a loser.... (more)

Eyes

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 24, 2011

I'm sure we've all met them, the people who seem one way in public but in private they are something else. The ones who keep the real of who they are hidden away. I'm also sure we've all met some who are so good at being this other person that we never know what is the truth of who they are. Some do it for self-protection, others do it just to mess with people, and still others do it without even knowing it because it's all they know how to be. In reality though, are we not all hiding something of ourselves from at least some of the people we know or meet? It's all a matter of degrees really... (more)

Follow The Money

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 24, 2011

It used to be that college football coaches were always looking to move up to the NFL. For the exposure, for the money, for the chance to be in the pros. That's not so much the way it is anymore. More and more NFL coaches are moving to the college football ranks and they are not taking that big of a pay cut to do so. In fact, some of them are getting paid MORE to move to college. College football is awash in money and more and more NFL coaches are cashing in.

Just this college football offseason several NFL coaches have made the move to the college ranks. Greg Mattison of the Ravens... (more)

Lip Service

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 24, 2011

The old saying a kiss is just a kiss really isn't all that accurate. Some kisses are much better than others and some people view kissing much differently. Human males and females view kissing very differently in most cases.

In the dating world, if you asked most people what they look at first in a prospective date, they will more times than not say lips. Especially men. A lot of men are attracted by red lips, which is why it is used in so many forms of advertising. Red lips some say equate to the look of ripe fruit or the color of some animals body parts when they are ready to... (more)

AFC Championship Predictions

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 20, 2011

The AFC matchup this weekend is a rematch of the same two teams on December 19. On that day, the Jets came out on top 22 to 17. In that game, there were a lot of things that will have an effect in the upcoming game as well. I don't look for the same game, but I do look for a close final score.

The Jets are coming off a huge win over the Patriots. One in which they talked trash relentlessly in the lead up to the game. They took some new defensive schemes into the game and had the Patriots offense confused from the start. I look for them to do the same defensive things versus the... (more)

NFC Championship Predictions

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 20, 2011

I know, I really should stop predicting anything given my record thus far in the playoffs. I am currently 2 and 6. That's right, I've gotten 2 games right thus far. Yet, I persist. Maybe it's because I don't like to be wrong and I think if I keep on the odds are I will eventually get something right! Regardless, I am pressing on this time with the NFC Championship game.

The Green Bay Packers are peaking at just the right moment. They found a running game at just the right moment. They found a team in the Falcons that let them run and pass at will. It has to boost their confidence... (more)

Date A Vampire

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 18, 2011

The world of online dating is ever evolving. Sites that are generic are becoming competitors with niche dating sites. Like a giant dating search engine these sites drill down dating to the most basic keyword. Online daters, who are all products of a Google search environment, where they search for something and expect to find what they are looking for drilled down to the last degree on almost anything, want the same things from online dating some of them.

Online niche dating sites run the gamut of society from the accepted to the truly taboo and in some instances the truly disturbing.... (more)
