Angel, Part 3

By D. Sager, published on Dec 7, 2011

The days turned to nights, endless nights of ruthless passion, uninhibited pleasure. The sun, many mornings, rising on our exhausted frames. She did take me to where my wife never would, the price for this journey, never spoken. Soon, the path away from my angel, was closed altogether. At first, little signs, which looking back were not so little. Indiscretions, as I called them, finding her with other men in compromising positions. Times when she disappeared, only to be found later, somewhat tossed in her appearance. Each time, her apologies and a healthy dose of gratuitous sex, sedated my... (more)

Stars, They Tell Me of You

By D. Sager, published on Dec 6, 2011

The stars, they tell me of you.

It is not you I see, I see the part of you

that has only now,

come to light.

I love the you I see now,

but you have changed already.

I think I know you,

but, like the stars,

you are only a distant image

of what

has already been.

Angel, Part 2

By D. Sager, published on Dec 5, 2011

The rest of the night blurred by, like so many nights do, when you don't have the courage to look for a tomorrow. I stumbled home with her image emblazoned on my mind, falling asleep, dreaming of angels. Opening my eyes in drunken squints, can someone turn off that damn light? I laughed, of course not, it was the sun greeting me to a new day. I showered off the smell, but the after effects of the night hung on until afternoon. By then, my mind was way ahead of the day, thinking that tonight I will run into my angel again. She left enough of me wanting, to keep my attention. The wolf will let... (more)

Angel, The Beginning

By D. Sager, published on Dec 4, 2011

The face of an angel. Papa always told me to beware of the woman who had the face of an angel. I'm not referring to natural beauty, but the innocent purity and helpless look that compels men to protect her, regardless of their logic. That's how it was with her, an angel. I should have known better, my guard was down, my heart was broken, my mind was confused, all from going through hell on earth known as divorce. I managed to find my solace, like so many others, at the local brewery, throwing down drink after drink in an attempt to drown myself or lose myself. I was at a low that only happens... (more)

Queen, Part 6

By D. Sager, published on Dec 3, 2011

I woke from my sated slumber, a smile on my face. Turning to my queen, I see the same smile reflected in her eyes, barely open from her repose. As I looked at her, my mind replayed images of the night before, the sounds, amazing sights, and most of all, a feeling of being, different. Her words controlled many, soft yet powerful whips that always brought about her will, even when you thought it was your own. Now, it was more than her words. Her body brought a whole new element to my journey, creating a hunger, a thirst, both working together, driving me to feel her touch. Shaking myself from... (more)

It's A Long Way Back

By D. Sager, published on Dec 2, 2011

Its a long way back from the edges of life. I knew when I followed that path, way out to the edge of my experience, my emotions raw and excited with newness of knowledge and feeling, that the price for this wonder may be, the journey back. Its so beautiful on the way out to that edge. My soul so easily amazed by pleasures which offer no sure guidance, pleasures which deceive with their passion. This excitement is the elixir of madness offered by my wayward senses to lure me beyond the wise and sure. Looking at my experiences, I recognize the most painful ones are the ones that had extreme... (more)

The Queen, Part 5

By D. Sager, published on Dec 1, 2011

Urgently she grabbed my hand, I was still in shock at having handled myself so competently. She knew what she could make men do, her little mischievous smile told me that she was well aware of her skill. Taking me to a door, barely recognizable from years of graffiti sprayed on it, blending it in with the dark sticky walls of the alley, she pushed it open with a nudge and we entered another world alien from that of the putrid alley, but still as foreboding, mysterious. The lights were dim, but gave an ambiance that said, pleasure. She turned, letting her jacket slide off slowly, showing... (more)

Blossom

By D. Sager, published on Dec 1, 2011

Lightness, adrift but within my grasp always. Your like the blossoms of a tree, brushed off by the wind, yet still you belong to me, though we are apart. We are intertwined souls, mated by nature and God. Soon I shall lift you back up, from my roots you will be reborn to forever be one with me. Your my bloom my love, this tree will always sustain you. I long for you to be on my branches once again, the whole of nature in agreement with the union. Oh how naked am I, my lover! How my branches sway at the sight of you! Come clothe me with your fragrant beauty, and let us be made whole... (more)

The Power Is Yours

By D. Sager, published on Nov 30, 2011

You have an energy in you. You feel it building, through the hours, through the days, and through the years. Perhaps from success, perhaps from suffering, no matter how, it builds. It longs to be let out, to be used. You feel the need to do something. Celebrate, cut loose, anything! You feel the need to do, do, do something. Now, slow down for a second. You can use this energy for something. Wait before you spend it. Acknowledge it. Then use it to create something...words, music, art, or an idea. Anything to bring life. The energy is there. You will do one of two things, destroy or... (more)

Hidden

By D. Sager, published on Nov 30, 2011

Cloaks, shields, cover for you.

Duck, run, defense for you.

Leaves they blend with your skin

Camouflage from within.

Scent not your own,

Voice unknown.

Scant you appear.

Leaning away to tear.

Shadows, darkness to confuse

Who can know you, when hiding is your muse?
