Rough your way intruded on me

Now your way is what I want to be

So take your give and know I

Will take care of your girl shy

Only bars prevented this

All your girls begging shit

I would make everything up

but you know, you'll all shut up

Dresses and letters to all your friends

Everything you wanted and now it ends.

And now my hell is left without you.

Turn my PO world into blue...

Serving Time - Incarceration of both sides

By D. Sager, published on Feb 1, 2015

“They kept me in a cage for too long because now every room I am standing in is just another cell.” - Reagan Butcher, Rusty String Quartet

...

We got together, I quickly knew

You were my lover and a thug too

Days went by and nights we do

Your criminal mentality showed straight through

Sirens coming now, the boys in blue

This was it, I'd serve time with you

Doors clicking on the inside and you knew

mind clicking on the outs, I'm serving time with you

You were spinning, calls not going through

I... (more)

The Pain of Being Good

By D. Sager, published on Jan 11, 2015

Monotony is a life I cannot endure and like the Chinese torture of a thousand cuts, each ordinary minute, and every plain hour, is an excruciating drain of my sanity's blood. My brain, being calloused by experiences that nearly destroyed me, strangely created a need for that danger to survive and manipulates me to destroy my success to create the drama I'm addicted to. I've an endless thirst that cracks my tongue and mind with desire for the spiraling waters of a hurricane, a wind blown vertical rain that stings my eyes and makes me feel a desire for living for the next second. My thoughts... (more)

Linger

By D. Sager, published on Dec 23, 2014

Satin moments play with time

Seconds become hours in jest

And I linger still

In your world

Velvet whispers in my vision

Night and day flash into one

And I linger still

In your dreams

Silken cords tie my passions

Constraints of minutes broken

And I linger still

In your lusts

None Shall Escape

By D. Sager, published on Nov 29, 2014

“There is no point treating a depressed person as though she were just feeling sad, saying, 'There now, hang on, you'll get over it.' Sadness is more or less like a head cold- with patience, it passes. Depression is like cancer.” - Barbara Kingsolver, The Bean Trees

This is no ordinary little house, in a dark wooded lot, with a long curving driveway. Quintessential in time, the smell of rotten leaves, moldy dead trees, and moss create an invitation likely to instill fear. Leaves and draping parasitic vines serve to block out the intrusion of light. Things crawl and slither,... (more)

Fulcrum

By D. Sager, published on Nov 28, 2014

“There is darkness inside all of us, though mine is more dangerous than most. Still, we all have it—that part of our soul that is irreparably damaged by the very trials and tribulations of life. We are what we are because of it, or perhaps in spite of it. Some use it as a shield to hide behind, others as an excuse to do unconscionable things. But, truly, the darkness is simply a piece of the whole, neither good nor evil unless you make it so.” ? Jenna Maclaine, Bound By Sin

Building my life on this fulcrum, everything I have hangs the precarious balance of needing you and needing to... (more)

Forensic Analysis

By D. Sager, published on Nov 25, 2014

“If suffering like hers had any use, she reasoned, it was not to the sufferer. The only way that an individual's pain gained meaning was through its communication to others.” - Diane Wood Middlebrook, Anne Sexton: A Biography

I reach through the fodder of my mental plane wreck, grasping, trying to make sense of it. Like a forensic crash analyst, I pick up pieces of my shattered self and hold them up to the light, turning them over and over looking for reasons of the devastation. Is it operator error? Did the machine break? Was it an act of God? Did someone fail to... (more)

A Death Called Dove

By D. Sager, published on Mar 3, 2014

Found then a little dove cowering in the birth of new

A blade came near and scant to miss

only a hairs breath relinquishing bliss

Flying before her time with wind both a friend and foe

Thinking to see, her wings grow tired

Blind fear rushes in ne'er more inspired

A shy grasp at what becomes a mysterious fateful lore Trying but giving away the hidden life

Reduced to nothing and shut in by strife

Again the hungry clock stood its watch o'er gentle dove Only to alight were she would ne'er to fly

Wings fail to carry her to comforting sky

Talented... (more)

Karma Meets Destiny

By D. Sager, published on Oct 11, 2013

Karma, you keep me coming back to find all that I lost. Don't you have something for me? I think you left me for another lover and perhaps you have found your happiness, but didn't you leave anything for me? You took things from my secret hidden places and left me wondering, where are they? You show up uninvited, demanding me to give you more, what about what you stole? People tell me that you're fair and they envy the times you show up and kick ass. “Karma did this,” or “You deserved what Karma gave you.”

Without omniscience and wisdom we only see the side that pleases us, making us... (more)

Lie Anyway

Speak with your face turned away,

words that I long for you to say.

I believe them even if they may

keep my logic in constant sway

Holding my aching mind at bay

go ahead my love, lie anyway.
