Fair is NOT always Equal

By D. E. Carson, published on Sep 22, 2011

For some time now there has been a story floating around the Internet. Some readers may have seen it in their inbox, others may have seen it posted on chat rooms, blogs, etc. Whether the story is true or not is pure speculation, but it certainly explains how fair and equal are not always the same. The story also illustrates how the rich in this country are deplored, berated, treated as evil and are often called out as scapegoats for the country’s problems. For those of you who have never read the story, enjoy it now. I’ll be back after the jump.

Dancing With the Stars – Season 13 Cast List Leaked

By D. E. Carson, published on Aug 29, 2011

The official announcement will happen tonight following ABC’s Bachelor Pad, but rumors abound that the cast list has been leaked via Twitter. Tsk, tsk on whomever it was that did this. You might want to start polishing your resume…

That being said, the unofficial list has made the rounds on the Internet and this writer has no intention of being left in the dust. So, here are the 12 stars allegedly appearing on Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars…and from the looks of this list, it would seem that thirteen is definitely NOT going to be a lucky number.

The System Worked

By D. E. Carson, published on Jul 13, 2011

It has now been a week since the Casey Anthony murder trial ended and what an ending it was. Since the reading of that verdict, people from all over the country have had one thing on their mind: “avenge Caylee Anthony”. The problem is, there is nothing to avenge. At this point the not guilty verdict is recorded and is now part of history and thanks to our Constitution, it cannot be undone. Arguing over whether the verdict was just or unjust is purely academic and frankly a waste of time.

The problem comes in now that people have made it abundantly clear that they are not happy with... (more)

Memo to Liberals: Where’s Your Anger Now?

By D. E. Carson, published on Apr 1, 2011

Don’t think for one minute that your silence hasn’t been noticed. And don’t you dare think that we don’t remember the summer of 2008 when you liberals were screaming from the rooftops about how it was Bush and Cheney’s faults that gasoline was four bucks a gallon.

“It’s Bush’s fault!” you screamed. “Cheney’s responsible!” you whined. Then there was the crème-de-la-crème: “This liberal is all about socializing…taking over your businesses” courtesy of U.S. Representative Maxinne Waters.

We’re coming up on your guy’s third summer in the White House and we’re suddenly staring at... (more)

Showing True Colors, 0bama Sides with Unions

By D. E. Carson, published on Feb 17, 2011

Barack 0bama refused to become personally involved with the Arizona immigration law last year referring to it as a “local issue”. But today, he reversed course and stepped right square into the middle of the fray in Wisconsin where the state government is attempting to solve some of its own budget problems.

In an interview with WTMJ in Milwaukee, 0bama said, “Some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where you’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain, generally seems like more of an assault on unions. I think it's very important for us to understand... (more)

At the End of Game 1 Watson Takes a Commanding Lead

By D. E. Carson, published on Feb 15, 2011

Tonight was round two of the Jeopardy! IBM Challenge. The only way to describe it is as Mr. Spock would say, "fascinating." Going into Double Jeopardy, Watson and Brad Rutter were tied for first at $5,000 each with Ken Jennings in second with $2,000. But that didn't stop IBM's Watson from running away with Double Jeopardy -- even scoring both Daily Doubles for the second round. Watson showed that it must have a bit of a sense of humor when betting $6,435 on one Daily Double. When the camera cut to host Alex Trebek, his response was a blank look followed by, "I won't ask where that figure... (more)

A Dose of Personal Responsibility

By D. E. Carson, published on Jan 12, 2011

In the beginning, Americans were hard working individuals who knew deep down in their very souls that their success was limited only by their willingness to accept responsibility for their actions. If a person started a business it was solely through his own hard work and dedication that the business would succeed. The proprietor could not assign blame on anyone if the business went down the drain. He could only look at himself and inquire of himself as to how much effort he wished to put into that business. That work ethic not only permeated shopkeepers but anyone who worked for a living:... (more)

A Divided America is a Broken America

By D. E. Carson, published on Jan 10, 2011

As a general rule, this writer takes Saturdays and refuses to look at, listen to or read the news from any source, but out of curiosity, he logged into his Facebook account late Saturday afternoon to discover that Representative Gabriella Giffords had been critically wounded by a deranged gunman who obviously checked his sense of right and wrong at the door before approaching the gathering. Within hours of Giffords’ shooting, anti-gun activists were howling for more gun control laws and radical left-wing blogs were heaping blame for the incident on Republicans who were nowhere near Arizona... (more)

Haven’t We Been Here Before?

By D. E. Carson, published on Jan 7, 2011

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the new Congress took over and already campaign promises made to get the Republicans elected are being kicked to the curb.

Why?

Because regardless of how much we want to believe otherwise, Congress is full of liars, scoundrels and cheaters and they will always come up with some excuse for why they cannot deliver on their campaign promises. Even after the Democrats took control of Congress and the White House in 2008, we found out that the government of the United States, despite what they may say, does not have our best interests at heart.... (more)
