I enjoy finding stories that are not only heartwarming or motivational, but I also like to find accounts of people who do extraordinary things. Such is the case of today’s tale which I found on survivor-story. Did you ever feel fortunate enough to survive an unfortunate event? Now, imagine surviving three catastrophic events…simply amazing!
The survivor, a lady named Violet Jessop, lived around the turn of the 20thcentury and had a fascinating story of surviving not one, not two, but THREE naval disasters during her lifetime. Violet Jessop, who was a stewardess and nurse, is most famous... (more)
There are many times throughout of lives that we can lose focus on the most important things in our lives and direct our attention on things that may seem more important. It was once said that the most important things in life aren’t seen…the following story is a heartwarming illustration of this idea.
A few summers’s ago, a man decided to take his wife and his precious little 5 year old daughter, along with him on a business trip to an exotic land. He had been searching for a job for many months and plans were made to meet an executive of a very well-known company for a job interview.... (more)
There are many times throughout our lives that we experience circumstances that can either leave us feeling good or bad about ourselves. They can be either positive or negative circumstances but the most important thing that we need to remember..is how we deal with them!!
Unfortunately, I know the feelings of resentment and hurt all too well. I didn’t realize it at the time but I had fallen into a web of negativity over a course of the past few years. In conversations with other people, I had become a “nay-sayer”, someone who talked about people in negative ways instead of being the... (more)
A short time ago, I came across a beautiful story written by Anna Rumer on zanesvilletimesrecorder.com that showed a steadfast love that truly lasted a lifetime. I have always thought that it is a astounding testament of the true love a couple shares whenever their marriage lasts for their entire life together. I can only hope that my life and marriage will be blessed as much as these folks.
When Helen Felumlee passed away at the age of 92 Saturday morning, her family knew her husband Kenneth Felumlee, 91, wouldn’t be slow to follow her. The couple couldn’t bear to be... (more)
A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away. As he got out of his car he noticed
a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing. He asked her what was wrong and she replied, “I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother. But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars.”
The man smiled and said, “Come on in with me. I’ll buy you a rose.” He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother’s flowers. As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home. She said, “Yes, please! You can take me to... (more)
The story is told about a land that was once called Paradise. All the people that lived in Paradise were very kind; they each had a house, food, clothing, and all they ever wanted. Everyone shared all that they had with each other and each person looked out for their neighbor.
Then, one day, the wonderful king of Paradise died and soon his son, the prince, became the ruler of the kingdom. Unfortunately, the new king didn’t live by the same credo as his father. The concept of “All for one and one for all” seemed silly and trivial. He simply had no compassion or concern for the people... (more)
I came across this fantastic story on truthbook.com that was a heartwarming and beautiful promise that everyone of us should share. It is my hope that this story touches your heart as much as it did mine.
I was about five months pregnant at the time when I came to know — the kind of knowing that seeps into the marrow of your bones — something of the undivided nature of God.
My husband and I had been through a very soul-seering month or so in which we were told that our daughter could have a devastating congenital disease. We just begun to come to a place of to acceptance of whomever... (more)
There comes a time in your life,
When you walk away from
all the drama in your life and the people who create it.
You surround yourself with
people who make you laugh.
Forget the bad, and FOCUS ON THE GOOD.
Love the people who treat you right,
Pray for the ones who don’t.
Life is too short to be ANYTHING BUT HAPPY.
Falling down is a part of life,
Getting back up is living.

Twenty three years ago, the Lord decided to bless me with the first of my two sons. Needless to say, I have enjoyed every second of my life being a father and, most importantly, a dad to my boys. To be able to be a good example of the Lord, give Godly advice, and love them unconditionally is the best gift that I could ever be to them.
In my opinion, being a REAL dad is so much more than just saying that I am one…it is showing my children how much I love them by the things that I do with them and way that I show them my love. It’s sacrificing the time I have and things that I want to... (more)
