A Doctor's Story

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 19, 2013

There are times in all of our lives that we need to be careful and think before we speak and jump to false conclusions.

A doctor quickly entered the hospital after being called in for an urgent surgery. He changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He saw the boy’s father walking back and forth in the hall waiting for the doctor.

Once seeing the doctor, the dad yelled: “Why did you take all this time to come?

Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have the sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled and said:... (more)

Sleeping Naked

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 18, 2013

Believe it or not, there are some health benefits for sleeping in the nude. According to the folks at oddstuffmagazine.com, sleeping in the buff can have some surprising and positive effects not only with our bodies but our minds as well. So, sit back and enjoy an interesting read…if you can bare it!

Natural pain reliever Clothes restrict blood circulation, hence shedding that artificial skin is good for stimulating the same. It helps in eliminating tension and discomfort from the abdominal viscera nerve region and even relieves waist pain. Those tight elastic bands do little good... (more)

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 16, 2013

I usually don't like to post videos on this site but I found this neat little video to honor all of the fathers and to remind us the importance of fatherhood and the impact that we have on our children. Happy (belated) Father's Day folks!

A Child's Love

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 16, 2013

A little while ago I read the following story (by John Pasko) that greatly touched my heart and once again made me aware how one of America’s biggest epidemics can affect anyone at any time. It is my hope that it will make you think about this problem and educate others to the importance of trying to prevent tragedy’s like this to happen.

I was walking around in a Big Bazar store shopping, when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll. Then the little... (more)

Things God Will Never Ask

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 14, 2013

Many of us enjoy many good things in life and we have been blessed beyond measure. The question is…what do we do with our blessings and how mindful are we to help others? I believe that someday we will all be accountable regarding the gifts, talents, and abilities that we have been given. There are some things that we can know for sure that God will ask us when we stand before God someday…but here are some things that God WILL NEVER ask…

God won't ask what kind of car you drove…He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation. God won't ask the square... (more)

Thankful People Are Happy People

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 12, 2013

I was reading through a bunch of stories the other day and I came across a story (written by Greg Carr) that stated that he had read a news story once of a woman who was getting ready to jump off a 44 story building in New York City.

Witnesses said that she did not look like the type of person who would do such a thing. She was very distinguished and well dressed. All the attempts made by the police to get the woman off the ledge had failed. One of the officers asked if he could call his pastor in to see if he could help. When the pastor arrived, he asked permission... (more)

Catching Monkeys in India

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 9, 2013

This is a great little story that I found (great-motivational-stories.blogspot.com) that demonstrates two primary things that generally will decide whether or not a person ever becomes successful. It has always been fascinating to me how many people are afraid to let go of their fears or to think “outside the box” in order to be successful. The following short illustration, gives us a good example of this concept…

Monkey-hunters use a box with an opening at the top, big enough for the monkey to slide its hand in. Inside the box are nuts. The monkey grabs the nuts and... (more)

I Want to Go Back in Time When….

I Want to Go Back in Time When….

Decisions were made by going “eeny-meeny-miney-mo.”

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, “do over!”

“Race issue” meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in “Monopoly.”

Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening.

It wasn’t odd to have two or three “best” friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

The net on a tennis court was the perfect height to play volleyball and rules didn’t matter.

The worst thing you could... (more)

National Doughnut Day!

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 7, 2013

National Doughnut day was created in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to World War I soldiers.

Now, aside from a tasty treat, why would The Lady in The Red Cloak be writing about doughnuts? The history behind them of course! And all the better that that history begins in one of the Maine towns that offers Red Cloak Haunted History Tours, Camden.

There was a young man… well, in 1847 he was considered almost a man, I’m sure. He was 15 so nowdays we might call him a boy. He had a complaint to make to his mother about her favored ‘dough cakes’. They were nice fluffy... (more)

Silas on Heaven

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 6, 2013

Whether you believe it or not, everyone has an opinion whether or not there is an afterlife and, if so, where it would be. Would it be in a type of paradise? heaven? In the form of someone else or an animal? Or do we just cease to exist? Regardless of what we might think, most people DO believe that there is a heaven...I know I do. One thing that I can say, is that I am pretty sure that everyone believes that their life is precious. But how would you think if you found out that your had a disease that was terminal and you were told that you only had a few months to live? Today's heart-touching... (more)
