Yesterday, Today Or Tomorrow ?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jun 12, 2015

Yesterday was Today

Today was Tomorrow

Tomorrow, too will dawn

What it brings, I do not know

Do not know, and do not wish to know.....

SOMETIMES, TOMORROW IS TOO FAR AWAY

SOMETIMES, tomorrow feels too close

Lost in a memory of Today

Or was that Yesterday?

I no longer seem to know

No longer want to care

I rather bury it somewhere

Far in the distance between

Two points in time.....

Today I commit to let go

Of unknown tomorrows

Walking instead into

Blessings gifted to me NOW....

Are You Avoiding Yourself?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jun 4, 2015

How much time do you spend avoiding yourself? Your immediate response was no doubt, 'none.' Why would I avoid myself? It seems like it would be impossible to do. Yet, that is what many people do, avoiding. Your life is comprised of everything you do...showering, brushing your teeth ,sleeping, with everything in between. However, there is often a plethora of busy work that distracts and keeps you from connecting with yourself. Experiencing your life from the inside takes time each day to be alone and quiet in the presence of your soul.

Many people have not grasped that one's life... (more)

Is This A Vision Or A Dream ?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 26, 2015

It seems this week I have had a few conversations with friends on dreams. I have always been a dreamer of sorts, and most likely always will be. I don’t know about you, but dreams have always fascinated me. We all have dreams every night. Each dream comes to us in the state of sleep called REM (rapid eye movement), and dreaming episodes occur in approximately 90-minute intervals. During this dreaming time unbelievable things happen because, as you know, none of the laws of nature apply in this nocturnal wonderland.

As a point of interest, the most common dreams revolve around... (more)

Flying Free

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 18, 2015

Lost in the freedom of heavenly surrender

Spreading my arms, pumping my feet

Wanting to ascend beyond earthly limits

Embracing unfamiliar heavenly adobes

The air is filled with You.....

Lying back perception espousing

My vulnerability laid open in truth

Knowing that however high I rise

You will catch me and hold me

In Your graced filled arms...

In this moment in time

I shed all disquiet apprehension

Releasing them into the abyss of the past

Watching as they fly away beyond my grasp

Freeing and... (more)

My Song Of Life

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 9, 2015

I have traveled both sides of the road

Searching always for what was a higher place

An existence that left all negativity replaced

By the unending grace given so freely to me

Simply in my asking, I was bestowed

Beyond any earthy desire.....

I do not hide from life in all it's intricate complexity

Instead leaping in faith

Exploring distant imaginings

Which hold my breath in sacred peace

Reflections of brilliant sunsets

And muted dawns, transposed through time...

My life's tremolo played in echos

Vibrating... (more)

Thinking...Yes, My Favorite Pass Time

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 1, 2015

This is an exercise I use to use in some of the groups I ran.

Think about a negative energy that you want to work on...let's say it's anger. Let yourself just feel this and ask yourself...who does this remind me of from my childhood? Okay, sit with that, a minute or two minutes...knowing that face, have their face on it. You are not blaming it on the face, you are just associating. Have the feeling. Then, have your intention be that you just let that energy stay there on that chair...then get up and sit in another chair, with the intention that you just leave that old energy behind.... (more)

Grit Your Teeth And Start Again

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 22, 2015

I am sure that most everyone reading this knows what it feels like to have failed at something. To be in the pits, looking up, wondering if you have the courage and strength to pick yourself up and begin again. You may think what I am about to say is a bit " out there.".."off the wall."

Okay, I am going to say it anyway. What I am most grateful for in my life are the times I totally messed up. When I was in a place that felt like I was engulfed by darkness, and could not see any reason to push on. Yes, I have been there many times. Probably more than I can even count. But bear in mind... (more)

I Did Not Lose Anything

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 11, 2015

Do we ever really lose or is it our choices that need adjustment? Or am I an eternal idealistic optimist? That could be, but I am unlikely to change. I am what I am.

I would of lost HEART in the face of man's cruelty to man..

I would of lost HOPE in the face of marriages that seem to be crumbing....

I would of lost LOVE in the face of incest and abuse....

I would of lost COURAGE in the face of fury and rage...

I would of lost JOY in the face of depression and despair...

I would of lost PERSPECTIVE in the face of anxiety and panic....

It's God's Job

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 6, 2015

I always gain more understanding when I realize divine action is always working on my behalf. It is when I forget this and try to be totally in control, that things fall behind and apart. There are things in life that we simply are not going to be able to do anything about.

There are those times when you can not change what happened, or how it happened. Your hands are tied, your mind is blank, your mouth is shut and you feel totally helpless. This can be a scary place to be, but it does not have to be if you understand that this now is God's Job...

These are the experiences of... (more)

Who Says We Have To Be Perfect To Be Loved ?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Mar 29, 2015

Do you feel like you have to be perfect to be accepted? That if you can not always be the winner , you will be rejected and be a loser? Where does this thinking come from? This could be a very important question to ask yourself. Who in your life has imposed these expectations on you? How very stressful and hard it must be to have to try to live a "perfect" life. To me, friendship and love come with imperfections. I wish you perfect imperfection my friends.

"Our vulnerabilities and flaws--and not our successes and strengths--ultimately make us lovable and human. People can be... (more)
