Ian Anderson at UCLA

By Ariel, published on Aug 8, 2006

Ian Anderson, frontman of the legendary band Jethro Tull, was Sunday night at UCLA's Royce Hall for an amazing show. For almost three hours, the mad one-legged long-bearded flutist accompanied by his band and a dozen of violoncellists played a mix of classical music and old Jethro Tull hits. Ian's skills at the flute are still incredible and it's a real pleasure to see him jumping around on stage, dancing on one leg, joking with the other members of the band. He seemed to have a little more trouble staying on pitch than during his youth, but his overall performance was still outstanding. The... (more)

By Ariel, published on Jul 23, 2006

The majority of the restaurants and stores of Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica were closed yesterday night due to an electrical fire that lead to a power outage yesterday at 5pm. By Ariel, published on Jul 12, 2006

An operation involving planes, tanks and gunboats has started in Southern Lebanon not long after the abduction to rescue the kidnapped soldiers. Gilad Shalit, abducted by the armed wing of the Hamas on June 25th, is still believed to be kept in Southern Gaza. His condition is unclear. (more)

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick on Main Street

By Ariel, published on Jul 8, 2006

Much to my surprise, sitting on a bench trying new shoes were Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. They both seemed pretty laid back and low key. A bunch of other "famous looking" persons were hanging out with them but I don't read tabloids often enough to know who they were. It's always funny to see stars walking around these very chill areas of Los Angeles, shopping for affordable clothes, eating a burger... (more)
