Mark Z. Danielewski will give a reading of his last book Only Revolutions Tuesday 17th at the Borders of Westwood. Danielewski, a USC alumni currently believed to be living in Hollywood, is also the author of House of Leaves and The Whalestoe Letters both published in 2000. His work has been described as a "satire of academic criticism" and an "existentialist horror novel" by various critics. Bill Clinton at UCLA tomorrow morning

Bill Clinton will be speaking at UCLA tomorrow October 13th at 9:15am. He will be talking about Proposition 87. On September 21st, during his 2006 Clinton Global Initiative conference, Bill Clinton lauded Proposition 87 and presented it as key step in breaking the United States' addiction to oil and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Small plane crashes in a building in Manhattan

A small plane just crashed in a high-rise of Manhattan. The 50 story luxury residential building is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side at 72nd Street and York Avenue. Videos from the scene show at least 3 apartments completely in flames. Debris are falling off the building leading to the evacuation of the area. No casualties have been reported yet. It is unclear if the crash is an act of terrorism.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie are currently in India to shoot a movie about the slain journalist Daniel Pearl, killed in February 2002 by a terrorist group in Pakistan. The most glamorous couple of Hollywood isn't exactly incognito in India where they are constantly followed by a swarm of bodyguards protecting the stars from paparazzi. LA Weekly Detour today!

The LA Weekly Detour music festival starts today at 2pm in Dowtown Los Angeles on 1st and Main St. Beck, Queens of the Stone Age and Basement Jaxx will lead the show, but awesome bands like Peeping Tom, Red Kross, Blonde Redhead and Blackalicious will also be performing for this event. Bin Laden is dead?

"According to a usually reliable source, Saudi security services are now convinced that Osama bin Laden is dead," said the intelligence report. French president Jacques Chirac, along with a number of international officials said that the information couldn't be confirmed. Some however talk of a fabricated report from the Saudis. No cell at the wheel in 2008

Our Governator approved a measure on Friday banning the use of cell phone while driving in California. The measure will take effect on July 1st, 2008. "The simple fact is that it is really dangerous to talk on a cell phone and drive at the same time," Schwarzenegger said.
