A word about LaurenK:
Hi there! I'm a 22-year-old who is trying to work out what I want from my life. One thing I know is that I love to learn, I love to read and I love to write. Studying science allowed me to gain a deeper passion and respect for getting the facts straight - for obtaining evidence to get to the bottom of things and for furthering knowledge. My dream is to one day become a science journalist, documenting the latest discoveries about this amazing world around us. I also occasionally try my hand at poetry and short stories to keep creative juices flowing. I believe creative writing has a unique way of commenting on the world around us. I carry a small notepad around with me so I catch all ideas that spring from my mind and my environment. I carry ideas with me so that I always have a story - fact or fiction that I can write and share. I'm currently developing a portfolio as a free-lance writer, continuing my blogging and contributing to online and print publications. I'm also trying to work out whether to pursue postgraduate study in international law or journalism. Looking forward to meeting others with pen-to-paper obsessions. Lauren K

Songs that soundtrack my life. I love listening to music that connects with how I'm feeling. I'm a fan of acoustic, rock and indie. I have endless admiration for classical music and the likes of Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin (Freddy). I occasionally listen to hip-hop, heavy metal and rap, when songs crop up with good lyrics. Pop mostly bores me, but it can be bubbly at times.
I like movies that make you think - The Butterfly Effect, Blade Runner, Donnie Darko, Girl Interrupted, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty... I'm a big fan of Love Actually and watch it every Christmas. I also enjoyed the Kill Bill series along with Fight Club, Pulp Fiction and Fargo. I'm a sucker for BBCs Pride and Prejudice (stares at feet...I'm not a romantic I swear!)
