Ladies and Gentlemen of the pugilistic world. It's an honor to present to you history in the making. The super Bantamweight warrior Jorge Arce aka El Travieso (The Menace) was the under-dog in the under-card fight of Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley on May 7, 2011. Arce challenged Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. for the WBO Super Bantamweight Title. With Vasquez entering the ring with a record of 20-0-1 (17 KOs) was no match for the veteran Arce who pulverized the young champion and winning the bout by a TKO in the 12th round.
It's a shame that the main event of the night wasn't as action packed as these two warriors fought their hearts out toe to toe.
"They should have never stopped this fight. I feel that I would rather get knocked out and end up on the canvas than having it stopped the way it did. My father stopped it. He never should have." - Wilfredo Vasquez Jr.
Jorge Arce is the first Mexican fighter to become a World Champion in four separate weight divisions. His current record is 57-6-2 (44KO)
