Another Year Gone

Another year older and time marches on.

Today is my birthday. Another year gone. Time flies by. Hard to believe another year has passed me by. Getting older is both good and bad. I think as I get older I am just glad to be here.

Over time, you come to accept things you cannot change and if you are smart learn to live without regret. There are things you learn from and move on. The past is experience not something you never let go of. Regret is something I am unfamiliar with. To regret means that parts of yourself especially ones soul still lives in the past and doing so is not moving forward. As you get older, you find it is more important to live in the now.

As I get older, I realize that some things and people are important and some are not. I realize that truth and character are all that matters and those who truly love you are to be cherished. I realize that success is made day by day and love is grown action by action. I realize that tomorrow may never come and that today may be the last echo in time one soul has to another.

Older does not mean gray and tired. For those who really embrace their lives and all that they entail, it really means smarter and happier.
