"The Passionate Poet"
Oh passionate poet, how do you do it?
How can you have so much passion, by the way, what is your passion?
My passion is everything I desire, everything I long for…
Everything I set my eyes on with love and is beyond my reach.
You see, if I had it all, I would have no desire, all I would want I would have
so I would hopefully be delighting in it.
The passion I write is about what I haven’t delighted in, or haven’t delighted in enough.
God’s gift to me, then God’s torture, which is also a gift, when seen from a poetic love.
Unrequited, unseen, undesired, unaccepted, are all my muses.
You see, a poet’s love is never in the hand, but always in the pen.
