Flying out from LAX today, not much has changed

I'm flying out from LAX today, for the first time since the terrorist attack was foiled by the British police earlier this month.

This triggered a whole new set of security measures forbidding any liquids in carry-on luggages, further tightening the security checks at the airport.

I arrived 3 hours before my flight as advised by the travel agency. The line for baggage check-in was pretty long and somewhat out of control as I was expecting on this 3 day labor day weekend. However everything went pretty smoothly for me at least, but it seemed like the limitations in terms of baggage weight were more stringent than the usual as I saw several passengers being told to get rid of some of their belongings to drop the weight of their luggage.

The security line on the other hand was surprisingly short and got through it in less than 15 minutes. I'm currently waiting for the boarding to begin and everything is going smoothly here too. The only different thing is that all drinks that have been bought in the boarding zone need to be consumed before getting on the plane. I'm lucky I didn't buy this family-size bottle of Coke I saw in the I Love LA store!

That's it for now! I'll be reporting from Bucharest for the next couple of weeks and I'll try to give you some funny news from this part of Europe that I will be discovering.
