Just when you may have thought you'd exhausted the downtown Los Angeles eatery scene, take a moment and look. On one corner there's a "Bar-B-Que King" Cafe. Directly next to that is a venue called, "Refill Restaurant??"
But, on the corner of Grand and 7th is a heavenly haven. Bottega Louie. High ceilings with a touch of elegance, decorative open space giving an invitation for casual to intimate conversation at any table. The natural lightening streaming through the large windows and brick oven in plain view with conscientious attendants’ only adds to the ambiance.
Each individual remembers your name and addresses you personally. The contrast of hustle and bustle to friendly smiles and attentiveness is heartwarming and satisfying. A fresh piece of a homemade breakfast roll is placed on the table with a side of delicious jam that's not too sweet or tart for starters. I can't say enough in regards to the service and personnel. From the smiling Host and Hostess to the Chefs all were wonderfully engaging.
The Brunch menu - Ahh!!!! It is a fantastically indulging experience from the hot coffee to tantalizing dessert. The French toast served with delicious berries and a great maple syrup is a must try. It’s a great idea to start with one of their tasteful mimosas.
There are a number of egg dishes prepared any way one may enjoy served with savory potatoes and meats from Bacon to Turkey Sausage.
Kid friendly dishes are also available along with savory non-alcoholic beverages.
You must not leave without trying one of the infamous tarts which range from Banana to Tiramisu with Brandy. Or, try a homemade cupcake, cookie, or one of the other delicacies available.
My decision to spend part of my Birthday at Bottega Louie was right on time and a grand part of the day.
I highly recommend this beautiful getaway. Your diet can start tomorrow!
