Sodium Bentonite, is a clay made up of volcanic ash, it has many uses, one of which is absorbing oil and fat, another is used to create a seal for underwater ponds and wells. I am not an engineer by any means, but I would imagine that this is at least a possible treatment for lets say..... an oil leak under the ocean.
Calcium Bentonite or Sodium bentonite, both work as clay that expands and absorbs and like clay hardens like clay so it is used to seal ponds, wells, and is also used as an internal detox, and as a clay mask to remove toxins from the skin.
The mechanism is simple, yet non toxic and readily available in abundance. It is volcanic ash and if we need a bunch more I'm sure that Finland has some left overs they could share with us.
So I would imagine this idea may work, although engineers and BP and government are thinking along other lines as well under stress that the last person that they would even consider listeing to is average Joe Public, or baynurse for that matter.
So what do I do with this information? Who do I write to? I have sent an email to white house .gov I think it is in the queue at about number 6,487 to be read. So mean while... I guess I will keep on writing it out so that maybe someone will have a connection to a connection to someone who can pass this information to someone who might think this is a viable option.
Who knows, it just may save the world.
