During more than a decade of IT experience I have seen many file synchronization services. They all needed moderate to advanced computing skill levels. Dropbox is different. Dropbox just works. The best part is that it works across Apple Mac OS X, all Microsoft Windows versions, and all Linux distributions. You can also access all your files from dropbox.com from any http compliant web browser. This includes the popular browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, as well as Opera, Flock, Mozilla Seamonkey, and others.
Dropbox offers a free account that gives users a generous 2 gigabytes of data storage. Users can refer others to Dropbox in various ways and with each successful account activation both the referrer and the referee receive a bonus of 256 megabytes of storage. This bonus plan can take a user up to 5 gigabytes of free synchronous data storage.
Think of Dropbox as replacing the need to carry around a USB memory stick. 2-5 gigabytes of storage for your PowerPoint presentations, resumes, favorite photos, and other files you may want to have access to anywhere any time. This is network storage "for the rest of us" with web based access.
Dropbox has pay plans that are ideal for independent contractors that need access to their files at client sites. This offers enterprise data access to individuals in sizes ranging from 50-150 gigabytes priced at $10-$50 a month. This Software As a Service for individual contractors is an amazing tool to have at their disposal. No need for data backup, easy access anywhere in the world, and no home server needed. This product is so slick that you can even access your files from your iPhone.
Don't take my word for it. Visit dropbox.com and see for yourself!

Jack, another ingenious application. I already use "Readability" a lot. Just one thing, what about security? Seems like this would leave a pretty big area of vulnerability. Not that I have anything that interesting going on, but still. Que?
