It is always great to be able to say you have a very normal and healthy skin. However, we are not all blessed with a skin that is very healthy and fine. So, for those whose skins are not straight forward normal and quite healthy, there are tips on what and what you should avoid for your skin to be close to the normal skin.   • Processed Foods: The first on my list is processed foods. As much as possible, avoid the intake of processed foods because they increase the cholesterol level which is definitely bad for the skin.
  • Sugary drinks: Sugary drinks have the tendency to produce more oils in your skin because of the excess sugar they contain. And cold drinks, packaged juices are all for sugary drinks.

  • Alcohol: Alcohol is good if taken in little quantities. But, if taken excessively will make you sweat which will make your body produce more oil.
  • Chocolate: Are you surprised to see chocolate listed here? Well, chocolate is harmful for the oily skin. It adversely increases the oil production. But, plain cocoa is good for the skin.

  • Deep Fried Foods: Avoiding deep fried foods will also help to decrease oils from the skin. And, these excess oils from fried foods when finding escape routes, will use the skin pores to come out of the skin.
  • Enriched Flour: Enriched flour refers to whole grain that is free of fiber and nutrient. Now, this kind of flour already has lost a major part of its nutrition but because it is to be added in the production of edible products, it gets enriched artificially.
  • Salty Snacks: Salty snacks contain trans-fat which is not good for the body in all aspects. And You can easily get trans-fat from foods such as potato chips, French fries etc. Trans-fat damage the skin health and for those with oily skins already, salty snacks must be a no-no area.
  • Fatty Meat: Red and fatty meat refers to meat such as pork, ham, lamb and beef. Due to the cholesterol level in fatty meat and red meat, those with oily skin are rather advised to stay away from such meat because it only increases the cholesterol level in the body.
  • Added Sugars: Sugars have a high glycemic index which is quite harmful to the skin. Honey, cane sugar and maltose can also increase the hormone and blood sugar level that influences oil levels in the body.

  • Dairy Products: Last on my list are the dairy products. These products influence pimples and acne in the skin. They are not good for the skin.

So, if our skin system can be decided by genes and influenced by our diet, our option, is to ensure that we control our diet to avoid foods such as these incase we are part of those with the oily skin.
