Honeymoon in the Galapagos Islands

by johnkelvin318 (writer), , April 03, 2018

Galapagos honeymoon packages include both of these possibilities, and we will consider both options here.

A trip to the Galapagos Islands is a once in a lifetime trip for most people, and for some, it is an excellent location for the most special of all holidays, their honeymoon. There are two ways that newlyweds might choose to enjoy their honeymoon in the Galapagos Islands. One is by taking their honeymoon on a Galapagos cruise, while the other is opting for a land-based Galapagos trip, staying in a hotel on Santa Cruz, and then taking trips to nearby islands to enjoy the wildlife. Galapagos honeymoon packages include both of these possibilities, and we will consider both options here.

A Galapagos Islands cruise can present an excellent opportunity for a honeymoon in the Galapagos, particularly if both parties love wildlife, and taking cruises. What better way to celebrate marriage than to enjoy wonderful, unique new experiences together, such as playing with sea lions while snorkeling, watching the mating dance of the waved albatross or blue footed boobies, or observing marine iguanas or penguins diving into the ocean off the shore for food. Most Galapagos Islands cruises include plenty of opportunities to relax a while on tropical beaches, and the geology of the islands makes this all the more remarkable. You’ll get to see white sand beaches, but perhaps red beaches, black beaches and beaches with pink hues as well. Your honeymoon in the Galapagos will present opportunities for many a fabulous honeymoon photograph, with unusual volcanic backdrops, or next to giant tortoises. For many newlyweds, a honeymoon on a Galapagos cruise, getting the chance to experience these amazing events with the love of their life is everything they could possibly dream of and more.

There is no doubt that going on a Galapagos cruise is an amazing adventure, and one that many people would like the chance to enjoy. However, if considering a honeymoon on a Galapagos cruise there are some points to consider. One is that aside from in your cabin, you will be unlikely to get much alone romantic time. However, for many couples that are considering a Galapagos cruise as a honeymoon option they will have taken this into account. As long as you understand that you will be confined in relatively close quarters with other people also on the cruise, and this does not put you off, then honeymoon in the Galapagos in this way could be a wonderful experience.

Taking the most luxurious cruise your budget can stretch to is likely to be helpful in terms of maximizing personal space. Any cruise will feel special as the Galapagos Islands is such a unique place, but a high-end cruise will feel like a true honeymoon experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Back to alone time as a couple, you could get more time for just the two of you by skipping some of the trips to the islands, but that would certainly mean missing out on seeing wildlife, which is one of the main reasons for visiting the islands for most. Either way, if it is a cruise you are looking for then there are many different options available from four days up to 15 or 16 days.

At Ecuador and Galapagos Insiders, we also offer land-based options among our Galapagos honeymoon packages, since some newlyweds will want that bit more alone time, for a more romantic experience with just their partner. We offer a five-day trip that is based on Santa Cruz Island. This provides a good chance to see the endemic wildlife on the islands while also having some quieter time, just the two of you. For example, on two of the days there are trips to neighboring islands that are close by to Santa Cruz, and depending on the precise island visited you could get to see sea lions, marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs, land iguanas, penguins, blue footed boobies and frigate birds, among others. However, on one of the days there is a chance to spend time on a long white sand beach, swimming and snorkeling in the crystalline waters, and observing the array of colorful tropical fish below the water. These types of Galapagos honeymoon packages may be more suited to couples that are looking for “us time”.

If you are looking for Galapagos honeymoon packages to suit your needs, do make sure to contact a local expert company that offers both Galapagos Island Cruises and land-based Galapagos trips depending on which you prefer. You might even want both a land-based Galapagos honeymoon as well as a Galapagos Islands cruise, we are sure that if you plan it the right way, you will have a truly unforgettable experience with memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
