Many people have reported the issue of Urinary Tract Infection, where the infections are in the urinary tract which also includes kidney and bladder. There are several reasons behind the UTI; it can be due to poor hygiene, sexual intercourse, the overdose of antibiotics and much more. But, in most of the cases, it is found that the UTI is caused due to the transfer of E. coli bacteria from the intestinal tract to the urinary tract.

What are urinary tract infections?

A urinary tract infection is a disease where the E. coli bacteria are transferred from bladder to the outside of the body through the urethra tract. Normally, the urethra is a tube which transports the urine from the bladder to the outer part of the body which is located close to the anus. Bacteria from the large intestine are transferred to the urethra by escaping the anus. So, if this is not treated, then it can also damage kidneys. Women's are more prone to the UTI because the urethras are shorter in their body. Also, the women's having sex can also penetrate bacteria into the urinary tract.

UTI can be treated using the below-mentioned home remedies:

    ·Have Vitamin C: Vitamin C has the unique ability making your urine acidic. So, if you load your body with the Vitamin C food, can help you to kill the bacteria present in urine. Also, you can take some Vitamin C supplements too.

    ·D-mannose – D-mannose is the active ingredient in cranberries that help flush urinary tract infections out of the urethra and bladder.

    ·Remove Bladder Irritants: Having caffeine, spicy food, alcohol, nicotine and artificial sweeteners can cause irritation in the bladder, which can eventually cause UTI. So, it is recommended to cut down the bladder irritants substances from your body and start having high-fiber carbohydrates.

    ·Drink more water: You should load yourself with more water every day. If you drink plenty of water, then it can flush the bacteria out of your body. So, you should drink water almost half of your body weight to prevent UTI.

    ·Herbal Remedies: You can consider some herbs which are very useful to cure the UTIs. But, you should only take it for less time, as it can damage your liver too. Also, make sure that you inform your doctor about it, as it can cause side effects if the doctor prescribes you some drugs.

    ·Visit bathroom frequently: If you visit bathroom frequently, then it means you are emptying your bladder. If you empty your bladder, then there are fewer chances of bacteria passing through your urinary tract.

    ·Use heat pads: It is recommended to soothe the pain area with some heating pads. But, make sure you use the heating pads for less time so that your skin doesn’t burn.

    ·Adapt healthier habits: You should quit smoking and consumption of alcohol. If your lifestyle gets better then eventually the UTI issue will also be prevented.
