Daughter treasure the family heirlooms that are passed on to them by their mothers. That is how dear a mother is to their daughters. Simaaya decided to give the day a twist where both mothers and daughters can take part and celebrate Mother's Day in a way it has never been celebrated before.

Simaaya organized an event called the 'Mothers Drape Daughters' at our Triangular Park store where people from all walks of life participated.

Actress Bidipta Chakraborty and her daughter Meghla were our special guests for the day. Bidipta draped her daughter in a beautiful Simaaya saree. "I first wore my mother’s saree for my first dance performance. My favourite colour is black and blue," said Meghla.

Bidipta, on the other hand, inherited a lot of sarees from her mother and she simply adores them. "I love mostly cotton sarees with contrast blouse, with a big red bindi on forehead and simple contemporary jewelleries to finish my look. My favourite colour is green," she said.

Both Bidipta and Meghla spent an hour at the store, checked out our collection and created just the ambience we needed on the day.

Here at Simaaya, we have both traditional and modern saris, that would suit every taste, and would compel any shopper to pick up a few. We believe that every single day is Mother’s Day, and our programme was aimed at highlighting the sweet mother-daughter relationship,” said Mr. Rachit Agarwal, director of Simaaya.

Daughters can't do without the love and support their mothers pass on to them. Mothers are special and so is Mother's Day. And, the day could not have been celebrated in a better way.
