Each and every year, health magazines and newspaper's report the benefits of drinking tea. Tea drinking can be considered an old custom, which can be traced back to have started about 5,000 years ago. The latest revelations concerning the wellbeing benefits of drinking teas, such as green tea, is that drinkers have a better chance of surviving a heart attack. There are also other studies that support the concept that drinking tea can also have curative and preventive benefits to our body.

Advantages and Benefits

Drinking teas such as black tea is common among countries in the East. As a matter of fact, there are some historians from China who claim that the beautiful and elaborate tea ceremony originated in this country. Drinking tea is an old medicinal custom, which was patronized because of the belief that tea has a miraculous power of prolonging life.

According to research done recently, it was confirmed that tea, in fact, might prolong life. About 1,900 individuals were interviewed after experiencing heart attacks. They were asked to recall of their consumption history of caffeinated tea the year prior to the attack. It has been discovered that more tea that they drank, the lower the death rate was.

However, this only applies to moderate tea drinking. At least two cups a week of tea was linked to a 28 percent lower death rate as compared to the actual rate among non-drinkers. Drinking tea is known to enhance overall health, suppress aging, restrict blood cholesterol, lower blood sugar, control high blood pressure, deter food poisoning, prevent cancer, refresh the body, prevent and treat various skin diseases, fight viruses and stop cavities.

Tea can also help you relax and stay calm during periods of stress. Especially, Lavender tea, Ashwaganda tea, Chamomile tea, Valerian root tea, Passionflower tea. Similar to any other herbal product tea should only be consumed in moderate amounts.

Availability of Teas

There are a lot of options these days when it comes to types of teas. As a matter of fact, you can have white tea if you want to. There are also the so-called specialty teas that target specific benefits for the body. Aside from these benefits, they are also very relaxing in a way that they come with a very delicious aroma, which enhances the senses as well.

Reality is that it does not really matter which type of tea that you drink in order to take advantage of the mentioned benefits. Tea, in general, has flavonoids, which act as powerful antioxidants that can improve the capability of the blood vessels

to relax.
